I appreciate we aren't exactly Barcelona or Man City but I think we need to seriously consider using N'Diaye when Billy needs a rest. McBurnie looks way off scoring a goal and I think his days are numbered now in a united shirt, Jebbo is potentially the future but these last 10 cup finals are not the time to progress his development. McBurnie seems to be utilised outside the box anyway and best thing he's doing at the moment is his build up play which is inferior to Illiman's.

Just a thought but I just think we desperately need a different string to our bow and we can't keep relying on sharp every game. The bloke seems to know his body well and doesn't overdo it but the amount of game time we are giving him is a recipe for an injury in my eyes. Feels strange we are giving all areas of the pitch like midfield a break yet Billy has to start every game.

Barnsley at home is a good chance to give it a whizz, if its not working bring Billy on with at least half an hour to go.

We played without a striker when we played Hull!

😉

Though he is down as an attacking midfielder I seem to think N'Diaye played as a centre forward a number of times for the U23s.

We're not giving Billy a break because we can't afford to give him a break. He's older but he's not unfit and he also looks more resilient to potential injuries than other members of the squad. He's our main threat and we should play him.The other strikers have shown that they are a level below Billy.
International break can't come soon enough for our depleted squad.
Also, Barnsley are fighting for their lives and we've just got turned over at Coventry - it's not a game we should be experimenting in, it's a game where we should be giving ourselves the best chance of picking up a much needed 3 points in our quest for the play-offs.

I think Berge could do that as his ball retention is the best we have and he rag dolls many defenders - when he is fit enough and in the mood.

Whichever combination of players we go with someone will play higher up the pitch than the rest of the team and therefore will be a de-facto 'striker'. Just because they don't have an 'ST' next to them on Champ Manager doesn't mean we're playing some crazy or far fetched formation.

100% agree. Some games bill offers absolutely nothing if he doesn’t score. Ndiaye certainly offers something & a front three of him berge and mgw sounds lethal

I'm not sure why we would need to, MGW, Sharp, Jebbison & McBurnie are part of the fit players we have available. I'd like to see N'diaye get a run out tomorrow & Saturday though. I don't feel Norwood, Berge & Hourihane as a flat 3 works how we need it to

I've been thinking about this myself purely for if/when we need to rest Sharp. Doesn't say much for my faith in McBurnie!
Sad state when you can’t trust a guy you spent 17m on.

He’s got to own his fair share of that.

I don’t understand why Ndiaye hasn’t been played as a striker Vs Fulham he played as a no9 or just off a striker and was exceptional

It shouldn’t be if MGW plays Ndiaye doesn’t get a look in when Ndiaye has shown glimpses he can be just as good

Not often I agree with your selections. But I agree with your take here. Would be worth a go, especially as I’d like to see Berge, Ndiaye and MGW in the same side.
