Could we have done this any worse?

Clubs are buying and selling players were doing nowt untill the new manager comes by the time he gets here we first have to sell before we can buy by that time no club want's any of our scrap and the good players have sold or have new contracts. Our team is like the property McCabe owns losts it's value and nobody want's to buy it.

Lest we forget

We had gone top of the league at Christmas DW was doing fine , when we sacked him after losing at home again to Crawley we looked like we were'nt going to make the play offs , only the win over swindon confirmed it, so him getting the sack was for throwing it all away .

At the 23 game halfway point we had accrued 46 points, after beating scunny
the second 23 games accrued 29 points , bareely enough to stay up if duplicated

bare facts say we were playing 40% worse in 2013

We still had automatic promotion in our own hands when Wilson was sacked and were virtually sure of a play off place (as it happened we would have needed only 1 point from our last 5 games).

a blind man could see we couldnt beat a carpet just then, self belief had left the building
our home form was 75% below what it should have been , the drawn games mostly 0-0 were killing us
hed had the chance to bring in some fresh blood up front to eek 1-0 wins out of the 0-0 draws
he brought in forte and poleon, was like putting in foam sponges as replacement teeth

and if we are honest we were lucky in some of the 0-0 draws

Palace fans were saying similar around April time, were they not?

but they has zaha and phillips

we had forte and porter

what are the odds on those combinations scoring

and Palace were in a play off spot all season , despite what some fans might say

the fact remains DWs choices to strengthen the squad in January made us a weaker squad
other teams found free transfers/ loans that worked for them, noticeably Yeovil
When we needed his managerial nouse the most , he failed, as he had done previously with Swindon

The main "choice" you refer to is selling our leading scorer, but I don't think it was Wilson's.

Can anyone actually see a single ray of light in all this mess?

Yes, we haven't just appointed someone like Captain Drunk without even speaking to anyone else.

Let's see where we end up but isn't taking our time better than rushing in without thinking?

Ah right, he chose to sell Blackman now at the last minute, did he. Nice to see SUFC Revisionism is still alive and kicking. We're swimming in the shitty end of the pool, unless you hadn't noticed. There's fuck all to offer any player - which is probably why we're approaching June and no manager wants to touch us with a barge pole. Forte was poor, no doubt - I will hazard a guess just becaue he's a Blade he was the only player willing to come at such a short notice with us offering so little money (Bladey Bladeness). I don't blame Wilson for signing Poleon; he already scored for Leeds in his couple of appearances, and Warnock rated him highly - it was a signing that could have been great, but unfortunately, Poleon was a bit lacking. Maybe he'll mature into a good player, maybe he'll end up playing for Farsley Celtic who knows?

And yet you spent all of the above period telling us all we would go up automatically.
we should/would have if hed carried on doing the good stuff but he didnt

consistancy over 18 months said he was capable of securing enough points , jan 2013 on he failed in that consistancy

harsh but true, results are everything
pre xmas 2 points per game
post xmas 1,1 points per game, he failed
