Whilst traveling back to Liverpool after the game. I stopped at birch services. I got talking to a Colne FC supporter on his way back from tadcaster!. We were lamenting disappointing results for our respective sides!!. It made me realise how lucky we are to have a great stadium and big crowds to go with it compared to colne who get 500 tops for a home game and took 35/40 fans to tadcaster. They lost 2-3 after being 2-0 up. He was envious that we had a manager like wilder, ( he remembers tufty from his Halifax days!). he said that we'll go far with wilder and that we'd be alright this season. Is there nobody who doesn't know about tufty?. In wilder we trust. Utb

I spent yesterday going on the train to Madrid to see Atletico sneak a win against Malaga in their brand new paid for by tv stadium
very nice but located like wembley in the middle of a more industrial area than residential short on outside facilities and after visiting the Vincente Calderon in full voice 2 years ago when they hammered Real 3-0 no where near as loud, but theres time
got the train home 8.30 this morning , going to bed still a bit groggy

I had quite a long chat with a Manchester United fan after the FA Cup match in January last year (he was a Manc as well surprisingly).

He was offloading his profound grief about how Man U were in decline, Van Gaal is a useless cunt and he can't see them winning a trophy for the foreseeable future.

This went on for about 20 minutes, I sat and nodded sympathetically whilst playing my tiny violin before telling him to try supporting a team that had won fuck all of note for 91 years, watching them get pasted at places like Crewe and Fleetwood, always somehow ending up in fucking Stockport station where the train home is delayed for 45 minutes and wondering not only why you still do this shit but even who you are and the very nature of your existence.

its different levels of expectation
some fans remember the best days and thats the standard they expect
we managed to survive in the Prem under Bassett so thats the level some wont let go
There is no overall view that weve spent longer in league one than the prem in the past 40 years
just expectation that the zenith is the norm , not the reality
