I don't know who the manager is at Hearts but whoever it is he wants sacking.
 
He might actually do ok in an enviroment where everyone isnt screaming `Fuck off Sammon` everytime he goes near the ball.
 
Given how highly Michael O Halloran is rated in Scotland (and Higdon before him) and Anthony Stokes, it wouldn't surprise me if Sammon did alright for Hearts.

Seriously...Stokes, O'Halloran, Sammon, Nade, Taylor....is this some sort of bizarre experiment where terrible United strikers are given second chances in Scotland? Joe Ironside should leave his phone on.

Such nice words . Me - I am just glad to see the back of him . I would put him in the Paul Williams class of strikers who couldn't hit a barn door . What did he do , contribute to the Blades - fuck all.

I think he`ll do well up there mate, saw him for Kilmarnock myself, and thought he was decent, earned a move to the English Premier league on the back of it.

Couple of horror misses for us, but scored a couple of decent goals too, which you will never see on here!

Not a traditional target man, his strength is running the channels, fell out of favour in the second half of the season, and became one of a few scapegoats in the squad.

Absolutlely. It's like blaming McDonalds because I'm a fat twat. Sammon might or might not have enough about him to score a few goals up there, but I would say the standard up there drops away pretty quick.
 
Sammon's problem is and always will be his finishing. I don't know if it's purely technically ability or if he just can't cope under pressure and lacks that striker's composure. This is reflected in his goal stats throughout his career.

He seemed to lose all confidence at the lane, forwards really need to be thicker skinned.

The frustration for me is that he LOOKS the part, just when he actually plays there's nothing there.

Thing is I bet he is and your right it does tell you everything you need to know.

I'll always credit the SPL for doing the right thing to Rangers though and not letting the threat of "ruining football" stop them dumping them to the depths. Which is where they belong.
