(Approx 3.15pm today) CH has passed his medical at SUFC, not heard/seen anything since
Well happy if he signs 🤞🤞🙏

Surely the Academy coaches are saying that Ndiaye has more POTENTIAL than Brooks and not that he's a better player? If they're saying he's currently a better player than Brooks then they need replacing with competent coaches!

just seen post #94 and just had a near heart attack then noticed the date. 🤣

Playing tick tack toe with Jerome Sinclair

Kennedy was rated higher than Maguire when they were both coming through I think. I only watched the U 18's 3 or 4 times but that was the feeling I had too. He reminded me of John Terry the way he played.
Kennedy was rated and Ferguson said nice things about him after the FA youth cup final but the club were very keen on Maguire and fought very hard to keep him that summer.

Not a dig at you but this is the sort of thing i always here with our young players:
If he’s a striker- could be the next slew
Midfielder- could be the next De Girolamo
Defender: could be the next kennedy
Funny because I also hear;
Jebbo - he’s the next Deane
Ndiaye - the next Brooks
Brunt - the next Duffy.
Lopata - the next Morgs
Gordon - the next JoC
Seriki - the next Walker

Now I’m not saying they will or will not be, however there’s hyperbole on both sides of these discussions.

I'm not expert in spotting youth players but I'm sure Kennedy would have made it if he knee was up to it. I can't say whether he'd have been better than Maguire but he looked good enough for the top two tiers.

I’ve only ever heard the jebbo one and i think that’s because they are similar builds

Thanks Frank but that's a quote from a fan on twitter not a genuine coach.
I first noticed this quote from another fan on twitter and some people take it as gospel.
If Ndiaye is as good as the twitteraazzi mob is saying we'll do well to keep hold of him tomorrow.
I was impressed with him from my limited view of streamed games last season, but we're supposedly beating off multi-million pounds bid for a kid 3 years younger, plus another of last years U18s stood out immensely and has already got a decent loan move.

Diego was ridiculous at academy level though seriously ridiculous. It’s a fair comparison really Diego, ndiaye and brooks all play that sort of hybrid role of winger/central attacking player. It’s great to hear that ndiaye is highly rated I really hope he is as advertised but from what I’ve seen of him he’s not done the things at junior level that brooks did and certainly not that Diego did.

That said he did look good for the 23’s and junior football isn’t a direct translation to the senior game so there’s every chance he could be a better senior player than brooks and Diego. At this point he was the best of the academy players last year and plays in a position of need he should be in and around the first team.
I don't think Ndiaye came through anybody academy system.

On 17 November 2017, Ndiaye signed his first contract with Boreham Wood.[1] ON 31 August 2019, he signed with Sheffield United.[2] He joined Hyde United on loan for the latter half of the 2019–20 season.[3]Iliman Ndiaye started hitting form for the u23 team and got 7 goals and 10 assists in 11 matches. He made his professional debut with Sheffield United as a late sub in a 5–0 Premier League loss to Leicester City F.C. on 14 March 2021.[4]
Prior to Boreham Wood (I think) he came from 'Rising ballers' a group who give youngsters who don't make the grade a chance to carry on playing football in the hope of getting a second chance
