Who the fuck knows what Connor Goldson looks like and can recall him from memory? I would struggle with even some current blades squad if they went past me in the street

Is it a big step up? I've now watched 3 seasons of the top flight in Cyprus and there's 3 sides still in the europa conference. There's some good players throughout the leagues here. Fitness levels are high as they train in the heat, twice, sometimes three times a day.

On a boring side note, I now watch Cypriot 3rd tier football every week, I've not missed a match for my local village side home or away all season (they don't clash with United).

Typical excuse purchase, a punt, he can do a job. If it fails blame it on funds, it’s so SUFC.

But, if the new owners don’t have financial clout it’s what we will do with a potential promotion then the same outcome like last season.

If we get promoted do we expect a quick sale for profit or are they in for the long haul building a PL club? If we don’t get promoted will they fund a rebuild? Time will tell., tic follows toc
 
Wasn’t Soutter written off because he couldn’t get a game for Stoke last season. Goodson is a bit of a beast and I would imagine we can pick him up relatively cheaply on a transfer allowing us to keep both loans.

Anel and Robinson were fine yesterday, need that midfield sorting

The problem is that Anel and Jack Robinson weren't OK at the start of the season, and that's why Souttar came in. We were struggling to defend crosses before Souttar.

Little bit different now we have a keeper who has spacial awareness and can come for crosses

Maybe, but we clearly lose something without Souttar. It was him who shutdown that Smith in the derby when he was brought on.

Also, what do we do if one of Anel and Robinson gets injured or suspended, the replacements aren't really seasoned centre halves

I was advocating bringing goldson in but showing why it’s not essential he starts. Our new stearman type
 
Spoke with a Cypriot contact who knows about these things, he says Aris Limassol want €6m for Connor so that's probably ended any speculation there! If Connor was at the Lane I'd imagine he was just watching a friend.

If he comes in, then I think it'll be just as another experienced body who can cover a few bases. I reckon if there's a bigger or more long term option out there, then they'll go for that as well, but that's a big if!

6 million for. 32 year old playing in the Cypriot league, that's a bit hopeful isn't it

It's euros so think that's about £4m?! Still unlikely they'll get anywhere near that. I think they'd be lucky to get more than £400,000

Leicester signed Souttar for £15m from Stoke off the back of a very impressive World Cup and good Championship performances.
He then got a long term injury.

He was exceptional for us this season. I doubt there's been a better centre half in the division.

Devastating blow for us, but moreover him.
He's a big unit and you worry about his bodies ability to cope with the relentless fixtures that elite football now require.
