Whilst i am happy for the lad, i just cant see how he has managed to get the call up.

He has at best been bang average with our Under 23s this season. Has an England scout really watched him this season or is it a case of when your face fits then you are called up.... Dare i say George Hirst from the pigs with England U18s is another example.

What can an England Scott possibly see that Wilder can't, one wonders.

Not only Louis called up but Calvert Lewin for the second time.....what did we not want to see.

I'm sure Reed is fine against other youth players. In our first team he is a boy amongst men at the moment.

Given the respective reviews from our U23 games, would it be fair to say that if Reed makes the squad, Brooks and Whiteman can feel aggrieved to miss out?

I'm waiting for the man to have an impact for England.

Holland, Germany and America.

Take a Walk On The Wild Side brother.

An England Scott.
Is that like a Cockney that went to live in Edinburgh or summat?
Littler thongs am museum prickles mins
Predictive text and lack of glasses.

" England scout "........oh that should have said "little things amuse little minds. "

Apparently he was told he'd be in the squad at Rotherham's ground. It was just a New York conversation.

Just trying to be humorous Ern.
Apologies if I touched a nerve.

I am rarely perturbed by any response on here.

For what it's worth Reed state last night and did you proud, or should I sassy he did Hensall proud.
Could doi with a little more belief from blades as opposed to the negativity which is fairly endemic when a player is just not up to a blades perceived standard.

I say well done to the lad, he tries and has had some good performances for us, I'm sure if he was played more often he would turn into a decent player, it's just hard to see where he fits into the team we have, I think a loan spell at another L1 club would see him shine.

I'm not in the slightest bit negative about Reed. He's at a crunch point in his career, he has to prove to himself and perhaps more importantly his manager that he is worth a starting place in the team, he's undoubtedly talented but the team comes first, it's an unforgiving game and unfortunately juniors can't be cut any slack and given time to develop in the first team if that impinges on results. Less than 1 in 10 juniors are making it to second pro-contract. Like all our youths coming through I really hope he makes it but it is rarely a straightforward path, it might need him dropping down and playing his way up, it may be a loan, obviously the potential rewards are enormous and the competition to succeed is intense.

Pardon my ignorance but int the lad about 18? Perhaps he needs a bit more time to show he's got summet before he's written off?

He may have had a few chances in our first team and he may not have always showed up, but I've seen him play well and there's clearly something there. 'Bang average' might be a bit harsh this early in his career.

Hope he does well on his England duties.
