First half you made a real game of it, thought you were one of the better sides I'd seen this season. The left winger was causing problems for Basham and Freeman, could've had a couple.

Second half you seemed to come out with a totally different mindset to hold on to a point despite being well in it, not sure what happened there. After about 70 mins some of your players visibly drained away and I felt it was a matter of time until we scored - more a matter of whether we could do within 20 mins. Good game though, refreshing to see a team have a go at us

Better side today, thought we gave it a good go first half but then were overrun in the second half. Glad we gave Wilder the tribute he deserved as well and made a bit of noise during the game, congrats again and I'm sure you'll win the league.

Magnanimous comments mate, yes, in Chris Wilder we know how good he is, and we all feel fortunate to have him as our manager. Good performance from your lads, a difficult game as you say, but yes, we had that little bit extra and we managed to break down a very resolute defence. Hope the rest of your season brings you a decent points return.

Never mind all this football stuff.

Where did you go for a beer?

And how was it?

Hope you had a great day despite the result

First half you played well, arguably better than us, second half played for the point and for a long time thought you might get it. One of the better teams I've seen at the lane though.

Oh and btw Adam Smith is a bit of a knob, didn't see him time wasting much after we scored mind.

Which of our players stood out for you.??

In the first half the Cobblers were as positive as we've seen from an opposition this season (excluding the first few games when we were still finding our feet). Your big lad up front was a handful, and the pace joining him looked a threat. Taylor's left foot remains very sweet too.

But the longer the game went on, the further we pushed you back. Not a great performance from our point of view, reflected by a quiet crowd. But the winner could be huge in our season.

Great to see proper support in the away end too.

PS - did you find a decent boozer despite the early start?

Nice to have sensible coherent supporter to talk to. Anderson had a very good first half and despite Richards and revell being pests our defence played well today and they didnt really threaten. You have a decent side definitely top half and I hope you wipe the floor with those sky blue wankers you had as tenants . Hny

You had some good players and if it wasn't for the Moore save late on it could've ended differently, it was world class.

Ultimately, I thought we were the better side though and got what we deserved. If you approached the second half differently it could've been a different story but probably in a better way for us.

Far from our best today but 2nd half dominance eventually paid off.
Northampton gave it a good go and credit to them for that as some teams just come to defend.
Good reception for Wilder by both sets of fans.
Good luck Northampton.

That Moore save was their only shot on target though

Very gracious, all the best for the season and have have a happy new year.

As we were there early we found a Wetherspoons in the centre, does the job!

In terms of standout players, there aren't too many I can remember (although that may be the effect of pre game drinking or last nights drinking!) it was more of your collective squad being that bit better than ours

I was interested to watch JJOT who, briefly, used to play for us. I thought him a slow and laboured passenger apart from giving away free-kicks, yet I understand he excelled last season?

In league 2 he had more time on the ball and he looked class. However the step up has meant he doesn't get the time and ends up getting caught in possession and then committing fouls attempting to win it back

Great to hear from you, and the reaction to Wilder did you all credit. It prompts me to think (in old git mode): 'Does any football fan under 60 ever think that they've missed something by never being able to sit/stand alongside fans of the other team?' Football has improved in many ways, but the need for segregation to my mind brings great shame on us.

It's nice to have a reasoned ,decent football discussion, instead of the bile and hatred that we sometimes get from opposition fans..We'll done mate and please feel free to come back on here for a chat to two .Thanks and good luck
