Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SUFC

The only merging with statements like that would seem to be the one between your head and your arsehole.

I think you are a legend ......... in your own mind.

Where are the quality posts you are so fond of and promised us ?

or we wait out and watch as they slowly go to the wall. we just need to stay up for a decade and they will be irrelevant to the youth of Sheffield.

Whilst they were both great for us in the Championship, i don't think that either McGoldrick or Norwood are good enough for the Premier League and don't expect either of them to play many games for us after the end of September. But i hope that I'm wrong!

I’m not sure that’s too controversial. Two players of that age who’ve played below the top level their whole careers shouldn’t be seen as safe bets next season. But I still love ‘em...

Last season's home shirt is better than this season's.. And I didn't buy last season's because I hated it. But now i want it 😢

Henderson is no better than Moore.

Egan is no better than Stearman.

Woodburn is no better than Brooks (without an ‘e’).

We haven’t moved forward one inch.

But we’ve spent some serious money, chasing rainbows!

We will be in the bottom half of the table at the end of September.

Wednesday will be above us.

Sorry to spoil the party chaps but I think most or all of these could come true.

Last season was our best chance in the last 12 years to get back to the Prem. Poor Wilder wasn’t backed properly and this season he’ll be made a victim by some of you, as we struggle to convince in the first few months.

WOW. Just noticed the OP, sorry CB...

The ability of the tinternet to make idiots of people who should know better is it's one abiding quality.

Is that just down to the nostalgia of last season though? I hated it at first but now see it as one of my favourites. It’ll be an iconic shirt for years to come.

Pukka pies stand is, by a country mile, the foremost stand to watch footy at the lane.

So much so, it should be furnished with leather high back seats like the Posh dug-outs.

It’s no problem mate! I’m not sensitive about these things. I say what I think at the time and sometimes it’s wrong. Like in this case!

Easy with hindsight isn’t it?

At the start of last season we’d seen Stearman finish the previous season very strongly and Egan started out looking dodgy. Many folks stated that.

Egan grew and grew into the role and was unstoppable after that. Fair play to him! He was a rock last season. Stearman barely got a look in since.

For what it’s worth I think Egan will be dreadfully exposed in the Prem. He’s slow. In fact, to me he looks like he’s got some genuine hip problem or something. His gait is suggestive of that. He sort of staggers Crab-like when he’s running. Lord make me wrong again!

I think Henderson has really grasped the number 1 shirt with both hands. I don’t think Moore is bad, but Henderson turned out to be better. Fair enough.

I got the “”Woodburn is no better than Brooks” one right though didn’t i?

And by some margin too!😀

If things continue the way they are, I'd loan out McBurnie and Robinson in January.

Use the money off their wages and any initial loan fee to go elsewhere. They can regain some fitness form and confidence. If we go down they'll be ready to get us back up, if we don't it doesn't matter what happens to them really.

As I see it, other players will be the ones to keep us up, Sharp and Freeman could surely do no worse and we should look at other strikers as well.

Everyone has at least one I reckon which goes against the tide, not looking for a debate about the issues themselves but interested what people come up with.

I'll start:

I think Kevin Blackwell was an excellent manager for us

That'll take some beating! :D
I think Dean hammond was as good as Tony Currie
Think I just beat it

Can you let me know which Lord you use , CB ?

It looks like he's the dog's bollocks . :)

Robinson doesn’t just look out of form.
I’ve seen us play Preston a few times and he’s always looked shit.

He had a reyt game in the 3-2 at the Lane if I remember correctly. Or was that someone else?

Not disagreeing that he doesn't look too fantastic at the moment though, preseason he was our best striker with Bill.

Don't know what's happened there.

Martin Pike was our best ever left back.

Dave Bassett had his hair cut by his mum...think pudding bowl and scissors.

I would love to have seen David Hirst play for us.

Billy McEwan was a much better manager than people give him credit for.

I’ll agree with you about Hirst. There was period at the end of his time at United, when I thought a Deane & Hirst front two would’ve represented perfect symbiosis. Love & death, war & peace, Morcecombe & Wise.

United haven't let in more than four goals in a league game this decade. But I think we will let in more than four for our last match of this decade. And potentially for our first match of the next decade!

We'll beat city 0-1. Mousset.
