Same, here, if you look at Adams' record before joining the Blades it was excellent, promotion with Brighton, took Leicester to the PL. Like Wilder he was Sheffield born, and a fan, and he played for the Blades youth team. He'd inherited a poor squad, and wasn't given the backing to strengthen. There was some improvement but the crowd were getting right on his back and that of the team. I was amazed at the dislike aimed at Adams. He gave it his all, and I agree that with another five games he could have got us safe. I reckon he'd have got us back up from L1 too, sooner rather than later if he hadn't been sacked. It's sad that today to most Blades fans Adams is still called Alehouse Micky, ie his teams play like pub teams) and no one respects his achievements in the game despite him being a Blade.
Given a similar timespan and budget, Wilder might have struggled to keep that team in the second tier.
