Still up when using comparable fixtures

The last 5 games have been identical results to last season.

Blackburn / Burton (H) -3 points
Derby (H) = 3 points
Ipswich (A) = 1 point
West Brom / Fulham (H) - 0
Reading (A) - 3 points

New years day at Wigan compares to away at Barnsley and a very frustrating 0 points.

This post seems to have slipped the net, I had to go to page 2 to find it!
Keep up the good work.

Looks like this is the first time we've been ahead of last year's points tally!
Onwards and upwards Blades.

Stat-O-Rama (I'd do a graph for how fucking useless that ref. was today, but it'd be off the scale):

Haven't I forgotten something? Oh yes!

grafikhaus - as SellyOakBlade says something has happened between your graph after boxing day and the one for Saturday for the compared to last season. The one after Boxing Day shows us correctly in 6th position after game 25 (we lost 0-1 at home to Bolton) but for the graph after Saturday we have suddenly jumped up to 4th!

MobileBlade & SellyOakBlade

Blame Microsoft Excel (I've just texted Bill Gates). Seriously, I dunno but have put it right now & thanks for letting me know. If I got a stat. wrong on Boxing Day, I think it's understandable!

I'll leave you with another stat. When we played West Brom t'other day, it was Jack O'Connells 100th consecutive appearance (now 103) in the league. That's the longest unbroken league appearance record since Phil Jagielka notched up 133 for the Blades (between Apr. 24 2004 away at Walsall in Division One - which would become The Championship in 2005-06 - and May 13 2007, our last game in The Premiership at home to...Wigan).

Just to show us stattos aren't infallible, I've cross-checked with Denis Clarebrough's 'The Complete Record' and - on page 503 - Jag's league total stat (38) has 'drifted' to the next column.

Right! Can I start getting pissed now?

The one stat in there that really worries me is the fact we have only scored one goal in added time all season. Teams that get promoted tend (or at least it seems that way to me), to score a lot of late goals. Maybe this year will be the exception :( UTB

On the basis that we were 3-1 and 3-0 up in the final minute of the last two home games, last minute goals wouldn't really matter :) They would have made a difference in the two previous games, and others.

I take your point, I have no statistics to support this, but when we went up from Div 3 in 1989, we seemed to do it a lot, especially close to the end of the season.

Any chance of comparing this season to our league one promotion season? Seams to be looking very similar so far.

Taking just average points per game, we’d finish at 83 for the season. Which would pretty much see us finish 4th in almost every season of the last 10 years bar one 3rd and one 2nd place finish

Interestingly it looks like we are already 1 point better off than we were in the 30th game of last season. UTB FTP
