CLUB PORTFOLIO FURTHER ENHANCED

Realistically if we looked at the 2 plots of land and what could be done if there was an investment (not likely) but lets pretend we have got some money (call dibs on new chant) as you look at the article the piece of land to the left ultimately could be used for Kop/South Stand developments and increasing the capacity/facilities (buy us a bloody roof!) potentially catering or ticket enquires/club shop could be used in that plot too. With the right hand plots granted it brings the "portfolio together" but we are limited with the stadium design as to what we can do. We have a view options such as a fan zone or catering area (not much hope that would do us any good) other option sell some more blade bricks and build a wall with some statues of ex-blades

Be absolutely under no illusion, this deal has been done purely for the benefit of the owner, not the club
It may well be to the benefit of the owner. Perhaps making us a more attractive proposition to potential buyers. Perhaps increasing the perceived value of the club.

However, either way if we benefit as well then we benefit as well. The outcome is we/the club own more of the land around our stadium.

I know fuck all about PAs business dealings, but unless you are telling me this is to the detriment of the club it’s a seemingly irrelevant point?

I’m sure you could argue the same about the new training ground, that PA has sanctioned the deal to make him more money from a sale. It’s mostly irrelevant if we end up with a new and improved training ground.

How is this going to be funded? Player sales?

I used to work with a Wednesday fan and she lived a few doors away from the McCabe's when they were kids just off Shoreham Street.

Obviously she doesn't like Sheff Utd but she said McCabe was a really nice and likeable when young. She always confirms he was a big blade as a boy.
She always speaks highly of McCabe as a person (based on his childhood). She said she knew his parents too and she were also exceptionally nice.
The people sat collecting in the subways may be nice also , shall we let them invest and takeover, whatttt!

All that time those signs were just there O assume to put pressure on PA to buy the land. I doubt he ever had any intention of building on the land but maybe I'm wrong.

Is a little odd no plans have come out for what is actually being built there...

Not about doing anything with it! It gives the club the all Ireland site back which was needed really

Using the land at this stage is unlikely the main thing is its back with the club that's the important thing.
The Blades island is complete again! a good selling point.

At one time, it did have planning permission for apartments.

And this.

The first one from 2013 as part of the ground redevelopment.

The second a brochure on behalf of the liquidators of the old PLC.

Incidentally, the statement of affairs show two creditors who are well known Blades owed considerable sums.

With that one, although maybe not the most popular of options and doesn't have to be both parts of the land "on offer", I don't think any more student accommodation is a good thing but rather than having club retail could we bring in other retailers. I know certain franchise models have boundary restrictions so some research would need to be done as to what retail could be brought in for example McDonalds/Subway etc have their own rules on that, the nearest can't be more than x miles away etc. Either food, gym/leisure centre or convenience stores could work well but there could be the opportunity for 7 day a week footfall out of football season too with job opportunities brought to the area and the chance of a 12 month income rental stream. Although we are punching in a bigger pool, when York City moved to their new ground, they partnered with a cinema and retail & restaurants for extra yearly income.

It's funny how soon some forget how long we had been stuck in the third Div before HRH came along. and how many promotions we've had since he came:tumbleweed:
He was there for half those stuck in league one years.

We didn't overspend our way out and buy promotions and up Chris Wilder and the side did something very rare! ( Although Ipswich did it quicker this year!)

They had to take them down, in order to sell more bricks to young fans!
Let's get that revenue flowing!!
