Classless by club announcing selles less than 1hr after sacking a club legend

How quickly did they announce Wilder after sacking Hecky? Wilder was in talks with the club long before Hecky was sacked, but I guess this doesn't fit into the pro-Wilder, hero worshipping rhetoric.

Thing is, no one knows the exact time-line of the moment Wilder was dismissed, so anything vaguely hysterical doesn't help matters........unless of course if you were there when it happened?
 
It makes a change for us to appoint someone quickly, and give them time to get players in before the season starts. All I can say is,’Thanks Chris’ and ‘Welcome Ruben’. It’s just a change of manager. It happens all the time. Let’s see how he’s doing after the first 10 games before we hang, draw and quarter him.

I wonder who was leaking that information to the press that caused so much reaction for the past few days? Certainly doesn’t seem to be the club.

As for timing of announcements, it all seems perfectly reasonable to me given everything has clearly been agreed upfront so it’s not like anything has been sprung on him and fans were clambering to be informed. Well, they have been.

As to Wilder, he took us on an amazing journey the first time and unfortunately his more cautious return was entirely reliant on results where he ultimately fell short. He was well backed and we didn’t make it over the line. I personally would have given him the start of the season but I understand the logic of how important this season is if you’re the one paying the bills if we don’t go up. It’s a shame his second tenure didn’t follow the swashbuckling first but maybe that’s because he didn’t have the time to fully rebuild, maybe it’s because he’s lost that belief and confidence?
What we know is we have a promising young coach coming in who has improved sides where he’s been previously and if he does that again then we’re looking good. If the owners have got it wrong then it’s them that will be picking up a very expensive tab next year to have any chance of a return on their investment.

I think it is , i think show the bloke some respect for what he did dont think sun shines out of his but have us some good times and bar a top draw save and var wpuld have been game over half time. Even if it was tomorrow selles announced just my opinion mate , ill back selles like every other manager

No mate. We got 100pts in the Division 1 season, but that's not the point.

This is professional sport and I think the club have done the right thing in announcing the new man quickly. It stops all the doubt and speculation and projects a professional, positive attitude moving forward. Everyone knows where they stand and who is running things.

Wilder has already had one very generous pay-off for his efforts and now he will have a second one. We have supported him, stood by him, and put up with his childish strops when they weren't required or needed. He's done a fantastic job all-in-all, no doubt about that at all, but his job and his time here is done.

We owe him nothing (in my opinion).

As I said before, we all knew Hecky was going to get sacked and replaced by Wilder before it happened. I doubt the club leaks it as they gain nothing in doing so. It's more likely someone inside the club leaking it without the club knowing, or more likely the manager's agents.

Once that happened, all bets were off in terms of CWs exit, whenever it happened.

I kind of think it works better having

Mutual termination statement
Wilder's statement
Selles appointment
COH statement

All within a few hours.

Gets it over and done with in one evening.

I’d 100% agree with the latter. It’s always the same journos when Chris was here that start reporting on things they shouldn’t know.
It’ll go back to being a closed shop and local media crying again about access, after they’ve been happily and ignorantly ridiculing the new approach.
There was a post on one of the threads today about the fans turning on the new manager and singing for Wilder early if we lose a few. I think that is much more likely to be the local press printing that rather than from those who attend.

Maybe the timing of the comms could have been better under the circumstances, but "classless" is going a bit far.
