Are will still doing this "Wilder quit and yet somehow got a giant pay off" thing?
Did you ever listen to his interviews as the spectre of relegation arose during the long dark winter of 20/21 ?

As he realised Brewster was a pile of useless crap ?

After JoC was knackered , as the crowd realised the injury has left him half the player he'd been.

And Wilder reflected on having to
replace him with Jack the 2 Hat.

Coz the £ had gone on Brewboy , not. CB or even MF.

And LunnyCunt started taking the piss , but Wilder played him.

He was audibly coming to pieces , psychologically , mentally.

As for the departure , I believe the Prince - Wilder wanted to run for the hills - no amount of persuasion would make him stay , not in his broken state.

Did the Prince pay him a sum ?
Of course.
Why not.
Fair & just reward for changing the finances of the club

People close to the club claim he didn't. What's your evidence that he did?

IIRC wasn’t the claim that £4m was what he originally asked for rather than what he actually got?

Note “claim” rather than a dig at him and posed as a question before l’m elevated to hater status.

The Brewster instead of a replacement for JOC is an interesting one. Because JOC started the first game of the season Vs Wolves. It was only after this that the club realised he wasn't going to be right.

Also Brewster was going to be a loan but the negotiations turned into a transfer. It's as much Bettis, Prince as it is Wilder for that decision.

Moussett was cracking for a bit in PL. Despite his fitness.
My take on the Brewster signing was less about not replacing JOC and more about seemingly not recognise our biggest issue which was creating chances. To spend such huge resource on a player who at that time was a striker who relied on chances seemed like a bad move even without the benefit of hindsight.

First period ended with him trousering £4m after walking out due to a mental breakdown.
Whatever the merits , that part was finished over 4 years ago.

When given money ?
Brewster instead of a replacement for JoC
Cannon instead of a replacement for Souttar
McBurnie for the PL
Mousset for the kebab shop
?

Schrödinger's Wilder. Left out the "back door" begging to resign due to mental breakdown.

Was given four million by the club for resigning and was reappointed by the same bloke 🤣🤣🤣

Yeh , the same bloke who , when asked what was the biggest mistake/regret of his period of ownership , said
" Never learning how to say No to Chris"

What annoys me for a bloke who claims to love the club " Mr Sheffield United " looks like he'll happily walk away with another wedge of money if he goes .
No doubt someone will correct me but I work it out at 5m plus over 2 occasions
That ladies and gentlemen is out of your pockets

🤣……Absolute bollocks

I think they all could say that...on the transfer committee. To be totally fair, there wasn't many questioning transfers at the end of Prem season 1 . Indeed the board were joking about CW's persuasiveness during the fans forum during the summer transfer window prior to the next season.

and that ladies and gentlemen is why you have contracts so employers pay what they agreed to.

If he stays he needs to get a big smile on his face start enjoying managing again.

Go for it. Hell go back to your loved over lapping centre backs.

Get a decent pair of CBs who can play that way. A RB and a solid creative AM.

It's madness when you look back at the Sunderland game really.

We started the match with a central midfielder at right back, a central midfielder on the left wing and a striker on the right wing. In the second half we subbed the striker on the wing for a winger and subbed a striker for a central midfielder who was pushed further up top almost as a make shift striker. Our central midfielder on the left wing got injured so we replaced him with a striker. After that the striker on the left wing got injured so we replaced him with a striker, pushed him up top and moved the central midfielder back into midfield. Later on we lost a centre back to injury so we replaced him with a right back.

I explained this to a mate and he looked at me like I was making it up.

Like I said many times this season and last season. Wilder 1.0 used to talk about not having square pegs in round holes, playing players out of position or their ideal position. This version of Wilder seems to not care at all about that sort of issue.

I totally agree with keen blades post, I heard that interview with staton and thought exactly the same
This has never happened to me before ,
And is never likely to be repeated.

I think I'll leave this forum now ,
"Go out on a high" , they say.

No , no ,
don't all rush at once to stop me ...
🤣

That Nigel Adkins used to say some feckin tripe
But one of the best was
"Pressure makes diamonds"

No Nigel

Constant pressure in a big money environment makes people mentally ill.

That's why city traders are fecked by the time they're 40.
They're not stupid , they pile up the cash as fast as they can , knowing they have a short career.
Yes , you can point to the odd exception.
But most get out in their 40s and either pursue something else or retire to a life of sedate luxury.

You can't love numbers on a screen , so it's easy to leave behind.

But football managers are nowadays "high finance" managers , with all the stress that brings ,
But unlike city traders , they love football , so they can't leave coz they actually like what they're doing.

So they're locked-in by love to what is wearing them out.

And if they are a boyhood fan of the club they manage , carrying the hopes & fears of their mates and all the club's fans , as well as their own ,
Is there any feckin wonder their mental health suffers ?

You've done miracles Chris , but in some respects , you're not functioning properly.
Save yourself the heartache , get out before it does you serious harm.

Hardly scientific or proof of anything, but one of the guys I'm in a WhatsApp group with has it on good authority that he's already gone....

Take it with a pinch of salt, but going to be an interesting few weeks nonetheless!

Stop using facts to get in the way of their ranting 😄
