Over the past few days there have been various media outlets having interviews with Wilder / Bettis also the athletic talking about our aim for a new category 1 training ground and moving to Norton which may take 2/3 years to complete.

I know he gets paid very well, but us fans always say he will never leave and it’s not down to money. So what do you get the guy who has everything.

Thoughts...

Chris obviously sees this last three years or so as a begining of something and not the end, Ferguson won everything at man utd but never got stands or statues till he left.

The point being you don't crow about your achevements whilst they are ongoing that's something the pigs do and regularly have egg on the face as a result, however being a successful player previously for the club gives him a head start on the road to legendary status... And being a blade don't hurt him either..

If we keep as we are for ten more years with the managers and the board working together, I can see trophy's in the cabinet (what madness am I writing?) then when Wilder is 65 and leaves we can talk about statues etc.. possibly him holding the FA cup aloft, yeah that sounds nice doesn't it...

We get him exactly what we are giving him now - our full support! That is support from the fans, the rest of the club and even more importantly the club executive management/owner. Chris is obviously happy with the assurances that he's been given otherwise there is no way he would have signed a 4.5 year contract. He is building a long term legacy here. He is trying to do what people like Clough, Revie and Ferguson have done in years gone by. Ok, we might not achieve all the trophies these guys did, but he wants the Blades to be competing at the top end of the Premiership for many years to come.

The interview with Wilder and Steve Bettis tells you all you need to know. I don't think I have ever seen a team manager and Executive/Ownership in so much harmony in all my years supporting the Blades (since late 60s).

Wilder is not silly, he will not spend money we haven't got, but if we match his ambitions then he will see the job through. The only danger I could see to this is if he was made approached by one of the really big boys (eg Man U, Liverpool) but I doubt they would touch him just yet until he's proved himself working with predominantly foreign players and has had some success in Europe.

Statues, stands etc can wait until he's done the job - I'm sure Chris would fully agree with that too.

Maybe we could name a 'safe standing area' after Chris? Or maybe not 😂

Seriously, name a stand after CW? That ship sailed when McCabe named the BL after a part-time athlete...

I thought it was going to be about his formative years going to football matches with 'his pals' 😯

No, Alex Ferguson didn’t even get a stand at Old Trafford until he was ready for retiring.

Not yet.

Rename the TC stand the CWAK stand today for me.

There should have been a stand or statue to Alan Woodward when he was with us , and he should have presented with it .He WOULD’NT have wanted it cus he didn’t like admiration , but he deserved it , major cock up by the club not recognizing this , one club , fantastic player. Always remembered Alan ❤

Has Chris died or retired? This can be the only reason to think about naming a stand after him

Future sports quiz question.
What have, League one winners trophy, the F.A.cup and the European Champions league trophy have in common?

A. They've all been dropped from the top deck of a Sheffield bus by Chris Wilder.

The most appropriate thing to do would be to name the bars on the concourse after him.

As said in a previous post. He wants every football supporting kid in Sheffield wearing Red n White.😉

I agree, it's far too early in his career, how about naming a seat after him and then in a few years an aisle, a gangway a stand the ground, this would truly copy wilder slowly building from the bottom up.

If we can keep this management team together for the next 10 years we’ll be taking on the world and winning.

In 10 years I would love to see a holy trinity statue outside the new south stand.

CW, AK and the Prince, and standing between them, the League, FA and European cups.
