As he's the man in full control not sure who he's pissed off at. He knows the budgets and has his best mate as Head of Recruitment so if he's pissed off it should be at himself.

If he's frustrated it's probably that it's 2024 and any prospective players will be asking about development plans, strength & conditioning programmes and aren't simply going to sign...

Maybe reading too much into it but I found the emphasis on “that” in “THAT new shape” quite telling

Rob Staton on Radio Sheffield last night explained that the our problems are related to the transfer window closing 30th August 24.

Our policy seems to be to identify loads of targets and be prepared to wait until the final days of the window, hoping to pick up some bargains or attractive loans. We could do what other clubs do and just walk away but we’re staying patient with multiple targets knowing that some will fail but others will work.

We need at least 5 more players.

My prediction is 1 or 2 max will join this week, so we’ll start the season under strength and have loads of youngsters on the bench.

However pretty confident that on 31st August we’ll have several more additions, a squad that’s good enough to finish in the playoffs. The problem is August could be a write-off. So we’re giving our rivals a head start

Doesn’t he struggle with every interview? it’s never been his strong point….
The takeover is nearly complete but I do think he has ‘blades fan’ frustration levels when he should be more professional….
Not the man to run with it for me….

What makes you think/believe that the takeover is nearly complete please?

A total lack of comma from SUFC deems, like most posts on here, that we rely on assumptions. Mine is that it would have come out already if it’s failed, and that we are dealing in the transfer market.
Don’t believe the rubbish that we are spending what’s come in. It’s looks the transition is being managed by a third party and not PA…

Wasn't Wilder once applauded for not holding his tongue? Praised for speaking out over the shenanigans that were happening at Northampton etc?

I'd rather him speak out and explain how and why we're in this state with a week to go (as fully as he can without breaking any confidentiality agreements and all that). I doubt he'd be sacked for doing so because it's so unclear who's currently making the decisions at the club anyway.

From Wilders interview tonight I don’t think even he expects that to happen. He must now be regretting ever coming back….The Prince is getting his revenge now big time. Wilder is stuck - as he knows if he resigns he’s probably only ever going to get a League 1/2 job in the future.

Mind you if Wilder did walk The Prince would struggle to get anyone to come in right now and work under these constraints.
Sounds daft I know, but he'd try to bring heckingbottom back! ffs! Abdullah sell the fucking club.

The problem is that by 30th August we could already be in a relegation fight with zero confidence due to not having a strong enough team/squad through poorly timed recruitment....... AGAIN!!!

I don't think he looked pissed off at all, obviously there's work to do on the squad and it's not exactly where it needs to be at this stage, he was honest about it and that's as much as he gave away, nothing more nothing less.

Making out he's seething underneath and that he was biting his tongue etc etc is just made up negative bollox. You lot will jump on to anything you can to have a pop, but Wilder knows where we are and he's doing a good job of building a team in difficult circumstances.

I agree. Dont think CW is going anywhere else any time soon. Whilst he seems frustrated with how things are going atm re team building, probably because he has been working all throughout the week non stop on bringing people in, only for things to not fall into place as he has planned due to things out of his control. However he is fully aware of why that is happening (takeover in process). Hes frustrated yes, but i think emotionally he's fine and determined to do a really good job. Hes back at 'his' club and i just see a man who wants to really succeed but is being held back with current circumstances. He did mention he was happy with the second half of last night and the way we played and stepped it up in a new formation. He will also be wanting the ownership issue to be resolved one way or another for clarity, and he knows there will be players still coming in in the next 4 weeks.

Yes, frustrated and probably tired on the evening, but I didn't see anyone who was 'broken' or about to walk away any time soon. That's just people peddling nonsense on here either through their own agenda's, or maybe because they just like to worry about all and everything as it gives them purpose in life. People see what they want to see in his interview's. I just saw a man who wants to crack on with his job.

A lot of guesswork going on here! has the takeover failed ! No money to bring in loans or free transfers!?.
Wilder looked hassled not had time for a shit shave or haircut it seemed like.
It's obvious things haven't gone to plan this week as no recruits , if we have lost Hoover to a late intervention by Stoke that's OK as he wasn't buying into us if that's true.
Bedwetters taking over this site which is a shame!
Are things that bad? We know where the weaknesses are and have time to bring players in.
Bedwetters have a shower and change your pants !!!
"Have time to bring players in"
You are aware we play our first game in 6 days ?
"Are things that bad"
We start on -2 points, We don't have a right back, We have one 'fit' striker, We only have youngsters for the bench.
I don't think fans being concerned about that are bedwetters that need a shower and too change their pants.

Well if he did a brilliant job as you say stop slagging him off and think why someone who is capable of doing a brilliant job feels how he does . And by the way the interview he gave was brill he never slagged anyone off and it was very tactful and did not come out with anything any player would be upset about so why are you saying he said things publicly that players would be upset about ? So what are you referring to that you say would upset the squad ?
I would love him to prove me wrong but doing a good job a while ago is not enough now. He struggled to get another job after us and has had zero success since. Boro, Watford and us last year. Prince not the problem at Boro with one of the most loyal chairmen in the league. He knew coming back what the score was. I am sick of his moaning. He earns more than most can dream of. Personally I don’t think we are that for off with a few more in and Osula is an amazing deal for us. He needs to unite people not be moaning and set us up for a decent season.

The word I’d use is “frustrated”

And that’s where I’m at tbh. Kick off less than a week away. 4/5/6 players light. The thing is for me, it isn’t just about now, this started last pre season and combined with an embarrassment of a PL campaign not a lot seems to have changed

I’m not necessarily laying any blame at Wilders door, he looks as frustrated as many are on here. It’s at how the club is being run atm.

Let’s just say, it’s less than ideal Westran

Not sure that I've really heard him moaning in interviews. He's just answered questions put to him fairly honestly (which I expect our team manager to do) and he would like more through the door (which we all do). Where's the moaning? as I don't hear it in his interview's. Read between the lines you can see he's a bit frustrated but then aren't all SUFC fans at the moment?

Because he’s on a good salary (the same as his peers no doubt), he’s not allowed to complain about the club being unable to bring players in when we’re SO light on numbers just a few days before the season starts?
That’s an insane take.

What is it he has said that disunites us ? Did you see hs interview last night? What did he say that causes friction ? You say we will be ok with a FEW more in .I have you any idea how many? Do you understand there is just a week before the season starts . Do you think the prince will supply him with the cash to get these FEW in the door you say we need? When did you hear him moan about the situation the club is in ? All he did is tell the fans (who are starved of information from the owner) what the score is . It is the owner who should be answering the question Wilder had to face last night . By the way have you any idea where the owner is? We only see him when the going is good but disappears when the going gets rough. His he still alive ?

Do you know something we do not know? You say the take over is nearly complete .Really? We were saying that 3 months ago and looking forward to the up coming transfer window .So you think it's nearly there do you .Any idea when then ?

Sounds like last year don't you think apart from starting -2 points of course

Would help if he tidied himself up and had a shave to represent the club. Looks like he’s come of a bender with Wit! If I turned up to work for a new outfit the sight of the man with my career in his hands would give me second thoughts
Haha maybe he was just massively hungover I never thought about that 😂

Have we learnt absolutely nothing from last season, then?
We did exactly the same last year and look where that got us.

The quote about having to push to the end of the transfer window to see what they can do, or might be able to do doesn't bode well for any incoming new players soon. It pretty much stamps the word "NOPE" across all rumours.

This club is a ****ing joke.

Last season I'd pretty much lost interest before a ball was kicked, and I'm starting to feel the same way again. I'm slowly losing interest in Sheffield United full stop thanks to our shitty owner.

I walked away when Blackwell was manager and didn't return until he left, and I'm starting to feel the same about the Clown Prince of bog roll.

It's a shame. An absolute shame what this club once proud club had turned into.
3 seasons in the last 5 in the premier league and we are in this state. How on earth have we got to this place. Agree some smart business done but what if Anel, Souza and Hamer are sold yes some decent funds but we are so short on bodies in the building. Could be a tough start to the season this one.

The signings we have made this season are decent. This is the same manager who did a brilliant job by uniting us. His last few years all he does is moan. The multi millionaire Chris Wilder who without SUFC would not be where he is. I love ambition but let’s face facts. If I was a new lad in a team and my boss was already publicly doing this I would be thinking what a joke. Let’s see what this week / month brings. I will be at Preston next Friday along with thousands of others. I hope he gets them fired up. He knew the script. Fucking get on with it and do your well paid job!
I was starting to feel sorry for him until i read this ..UTB

He looks incredibly frustrated in that latest interview, which is a stark contrast from his recent previous ones. It does make me wonder if something has changed midweek, and if I was a betting fella (which I’m not) I’d think something has gone wrong with the “takeover”.
