What is absolutely crucial now is that neither Anel or Souza are sold. We are down to the bare bones and we just don't seem capable of getting enough players through the door. So to sell existing ones would be foolishness of the highest order.

If Moore is fit for next Friday we can still put a decent first 11 out even with Davies in goal and no right back. If we lose either of the above 2 players we are in deep shit. The first 2 games are winnable and 6pts would change all our moods. Lose them and its going to get really toxic.

The owner is going nowhere short term so we are going to have to put up with him. We have to hope that we can pull a few loans out of the hat and that eventually Cooper, Worrall, a right back and a forward come through the door.

I think we would do well to bear in mind the correspondence from Bettis that was shared a few weeks ago, where he referred to his dislike of social media and that there were one or 2 in particular who had their own agendas. None of us know enough to be right or wrong. And anyone who shows even a shred of doubt is labelled a bedwetter by people who think they know better.

The fact is that last season was an embarrassment, we were wiped the floor with on a regular basis.

Another fact is that we start the season on minus two points, and it could have been much more if we had fought it.

Now we’re onto opinions. And my two pennorth is that the boardroom stuff has dragged on.

Yes we’ve made some decent signings all things considered. But in terms of numbers and cover, we need more.

Another opinion and absolutely a hill I’ll die on, we need a decent keeper. And please don’t anyone comeback at me and say Grbic and Davies are internationals. They technically are, but think back to when we thought Darren Ward was coming. He’s a first choice for Wales and none of us wanted him. I could quality for Wales on the basis that I’ve seen the chimps at Colwyn Bay Zoo.

Grbic being back up to Jan Oblak is a genuine puzzle to me, he demonstrably is nowhere near good enough.

There’s no binary answer. Some of the positive views are wrong, as are some of the negative ones. But when people so entrenched in their views start to belittle people who don’t agree, well forums are for discussions and expressing views, whether you agree with them or not

What is a well run club?
Is it a club that drifts in mid table every season and stays within financial restrictions
or it a club that shows ambition, takes risks and overspends going into debt?
Is it club that has a great Academy structure and invests in training facilities.
There are loads of factors that determining if a club is well run.

Unfortunately these days fans are too simplistic and judgmental.
When we win, the comments are often "we played well, what a great manager, we're going up"
When we lose, the comments are often "we played terrible, what a shit manager, relegation here we come"

Same thing with judging if a club is well run.
When any club gain promotion = well run club
When a club s relegated = badly run club.
Take Forest as an example, do they have a great owner or a poor owner, are they well run?
They massively overspent and gambled and just managed to stay up...meaning their fans are happy with the owner.
If they have been relegated last season......the same fans would have been wanting sympathy saying they have the worse owner in football.

No, I've no idea either and I wouldn't expect the club to be engaging in such tittle tattle on an individual basis, hence Bettis' more general statement about social media. But as you say, it's easier said than done to ignore him, largely because of the complete lack of other comms through official channels. That said though, were we ever given official running commentary on things such as transfers anyway?

We all know, everything at the top is a mess. It's not new, it's just how it is now. Takeover happens, great maybe (it is a maybe) the new owners are better and they put people in who know how to run a football club and come in with a long term plan for stability and (hopefully) the plan includes us being aspirational.

For the short term now, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that we sign a couple more players.

The only thing we as fans can do is turn up in numbers week in, week out and show our new squad (it is a new squad very clearly) that we will back them. That if they show heart in our shirt then we will love them. Yes, Seriki probably isn't ready for a full season as first choice right back, but he will do a hell of a lot better if we as fans back him. I am also now including souza and anel in this, because if they don't get sold, they owe us a huge season, we are more likely to get that huge season out of them by showing them appreciation.

I know I will get shot down on this as a clapping fan, but as I see it, if this is our squad, it's not the players fault and we need them to believe in our club.

It's a shit show. But it's our shit show. Fuck the board, fuck the takeover. I am now ready for Friday night away at Preston. Siege mentality includes us.

I don't think he looked pissed off at all, obviously there's work to do on the squad and it's not exactly where it needs to be at this stage, he was honest about it and that's as much as he gave away, nothing more nothing less.
