All owners own the ground .we didnt own it undr Wragg we didnt own it under Brearly .the owners own it just now it belongs to mccabe , until someone buys it off him . Its not a difficult concept to understand how so many dont get it is baffling

Yes its curious how some fans seem to think its a bad thing that McCabe owns the ground. If I understand it correctly he's wisely put what I call the fixed assets like the ground in a separate limited company so the Prince et al and anyone they might sell their shares to in the future can't asset strip it. What I call the variable assets like players etc are then in a separate limited company which the Prince and others have shares in and can invest in players or sell them for a profit as they so choose. I might be wrong but this seems eminently sensible to me.

Hence the only person that could significanly asset strip is McCabe and if he was going to do this he would have done it years ago so I don't think he will ever do this. Seems a good smart man to me.

About the only way the ground might be "returned to us" is to do what I think Chelsea did by selling lots of separate bits of the freehold of Stamford Bridge to different fans to keep it out of reach of asset strippers for ever. However I suspect this must be a nightmare to get all fans to agree to any ground changes and I doubt that enough of our fans would be able to stump up the going rate.

I was looking forward to his response was when he was asked if he expected United to push on again next season if we do go up, or simply consolidate. He was asked would he be happy to do that if other clubs were showing an interest in him who had the wherewithal to push the boat out (or words to the effect). He started to answer it and mentioned backing again, but somebody jumped in and threw him off in a different direction and it became more about young English managers not getting a chance.

I'd like to have heard his thoughts on that subject, especially in relation to what the Prince said about bringing further investors on board if we gained promotion.

Dean Saunders asked some really good questions but like you said he never got to answer them i. The giddy sycophantic frenzy that is a Jim smith interview

Just as a footnote after reading the replies..

Don't get too hung up on what divisions we buy players from, the right type of player seems to be coming here...Moore.landell.carruthers ..

It's an obsession with buying championship has beens that's kept us back for the last two seasons, the right player... is the right one to get, no matter where he comes from..

Saunders wanted to know what the ambition was for the club next season if we are promoted.
Can we kick on? Or would we consolidate, be happy to be mid table for years?

Agree with Gray,
Wilder was starting to answer the question, mentioned the ambition of McCabe
and then mentioned we have the Prince and his potential funds
But then he was cut off as the presenters asked CW another question.
So he didn't give enough detail about the investment plans for next season.
Suspect CW himself doesn't know what will happen. A lot will depend on the Prince.

All the 3 presenters agreed that SU have the infrastructure to be a PL club (which we already knew).

I got the impression he was stalling a bit on that, there were a lot of pauses and 'er's. I think someone jumped in because it was starting to make slightly painful radio for neutrals. Had it been someone else I'd have been thinking 'get on with it ffs'.

Well done BB. That's more than enough for a "board not backing Wilder next season" meltdown.

He clearly wasn't going to start saying 'yeah, we're going to try to win another promotion next season' as he's not an idiot but he stated that he's very happy with the owners and how they've backed him.

Then he said 'knowing Kev he'll flog Billy to buy a new pitch'.

Used to like listening to Talksport when it was Ronnie 'Chicken Biriyani' Irani and Alan Brazil, then it got all blokey shouty, Goldstein and Cundy do my head in as does the Two Mikes, Parry used to be funny when he was on with Brazil as well.

'A prophet is honored expect in his own home....'

If he'd been given the opportunity to answer the question about next season I would've expected him to scoff a little and then say

'Premiership? Are you having a laugh. Our supporters don't even believe we'll get out of this league never mind the Premiership. They're scared witless that it's all going to go pear shape.'

'That must be frustrating for you Chris if your own people don't even have the belief in you?' Asks Jim White.

'Suppose it is. You would've thought that 55 points out of the last 66 they would ....'

'So what's the answer?' asks Dean Saunders.

'Have you got that Hull number?'

West ham should be sent a thank you card if we do get promoted,as in Q2 Chris pointed out we got lucky with the late penalty at Gillingham, the player who handled was on loan from West Ham :D

No doubt they'll just try and tout him for a PL job, because you can't just leave a manager to do a good job at a club he's only just joined can you? Especially a club going places who are a perfect fit for him. No, everything of promise must be immediately placed in the Premier League because it's the be all and end all and it's the only thing we want to pay attention to.

Why anybody listens to it is beyond me
Full of dickhead presenters and dickhead callers (mainly from down South) that genuinely believe Messi will never be a world superstar until he proves it in the Premier League
Absolutely embarrassing to listen to them

And almost all callers fans of PL teams. Plus boring bastard Rawmarsh Mick the Pig.

I rarely listen to anything like that but when I do I always get the impression that it's mainly for southern PL fans.

I wonder why they don't get many fans of non PL clubs calling? Surely it's not because the well paid presenters and pundits are too lazy to develop any sort of knowledge about their clubs...

Can't think of many better ways for football fans to announce that "I'm a complete moron" than saying Messi needs to 'do it in the PL' btw.

Agree with Bushblade, he didn't give any clue to the playing level of our targets.
Just said we are looking to bring in 2 more players.
Assume 1 is the full back/ winger Joe Riley on loan and so means just 1 other.

The interesting thing he said for me was that he seemed to have a dislike of tactics and mentioned the
massive importance of players simply working hard. Suspect it's Alan Knill that loves the tactics side of the game.

Could be some similarities to the Brian Clough/ Peter Taylor set up.
In several interviews ex Forest players have commented that Clough surprisingly had little interest in tactics.
He always wanted to keep things really simple.

I wonder if the two players will be loan signings, Joe Riley and Chapman.......

You should try 'The two Mikes', Parry and Graham. They are awful. Don't even talk about football a lot of the time. I have to turn them off a lot of the time.
Don't mind Jim White show and Hawksbee and Jacobs but the rest is pretty much dross most of the time.
Nooooooooooo, the two mikes are comedy gold !!!.

Repetitious shite regurgitated over and over again . Why Wilder went on in the first instance is beyond me . Did we learn anything new - no , which is good . Wilder to me kept his powder dry which adds to the mystic.

Are they bothered what we do , are they fuck . Bit of piss taking from Wilder IMO .

And certain fans complain about local RS. Yes Wilder can give them the run around , why - because he knows what he is doing , and perhaps finally getting some deserved respect from the so called national media and press .
