looks that way..... Having a pop at us for holding out for what Maguire is worth. Clearly thinks that we were not willing to pay what he thinks he is worth. What a cuntMaguire ?

Plus ched and BrayfordMaguire ?
Having listened to the interview, it didn't really sound as though he was having a pop, more saying it would have been nice if it had come off, but it didn't. If the suggestion is that the Maguire situation was affecting whether the deal happened, the real question is:
- are we dependent on Maguire going in order to pay for a striker, or
- would we be aiming for a higher target if cash from any Maguire sale became available?
maguire leaving wouldnt have affected the ffp wages limitIsn't it more likely that we're close to the FFP wages limit and getting O'Grady's £7,000pw salary in required Maguire to move out?

i didnt think he was as a youth product ,cant see his wages being enough to cover ogradys even if he isWhy not? He's 21 at the start of this season so is included.

well i bow to you superior knowledge on this subjectOnly players 20 or under at the start of the season (I think they use September 1st) are excluded entirely while players with coaching responsibility are part-excluded.
The bit about O'Grady arriving relying on Maguire leaving is more likely to be caused by the SCMP calculations where transfer fees are counted as turnover. If we got £3m up front for Maguire we could spend 60% (£1.8m) of that on wages that we otherwise couldn't afford.
COG already being bombed out at Brighton according to rumours, could we be back in for him?
Bleedin Hell Dronny ,with it saying elsewhere I thought hed already signed for someone else![]()

If COG signs for us on loan will he be the only man to have played for Blades, Pigs, Dingles and Toy Town or are there others?
Of course JCR has three of those badges in his collection.

Old thread from earlier in the year when he went to Brighton. Why does it say gone elsewhere ?
I can think of a number of players who've played for both Sheffield teams and 1 other South Yorkshire club (Curran, Varadi, Bradshaw) but can't off the top of my head think of anyone who's played for both Sheffield clubs and 2 other teams in S Yorks...there must be someone.
4 different South Yorkshire teams has definitely been done though. 80's forward Tony Cunningham didn't play for us, but played for the other 4.
