...executive appointed.

Blades appoint new Chief Executive
Tue 17 May 2016 17:00

United's off-the-field team has been strengthened. The Club has appointed Stephen Bettis as its new Chief Executive.

Mr Bettis has been working in an advisory capacity with the Blades following the departure of Managing Director Mal Brannigan at the end of last year.

"We are delighted to make Stephen's role permanent, where he will lead our off-the-field activities and liaise closely with new team manager Chris Wilder," said co-owner Kevin McCabe.

Stephen's career commenced in an Accountancy Practice where he qualified as an accountant and obtained several years' experience. He then moved into industry and subsequently became a Finance Director and shareholder of a Property Investment and Development Company, which invested in property throughout Europe for 17 years.

Mr Bettis will also become a director of the Club.

Always exciting times when a new useless cunt in a suit walks through the revolving door.

Oh! A property expert on the board? Who'd have thought it?

Heaven forbid a football man.

Getting to be a standing joke this appointing of anyone and everyone who has no expertise in the game of football

Seems inconceivable that a club of our size, with a multi million pound turnover has no one on the top table that knows anything about the game

If I didn't know better I'd swear McCabe was doing it on purpose just to piss us off

The saying "rudderless ship" springs to mind

Fuck me another bean counter. There arent enough at the club already. So I expect another dose of "Baldrick I have 2 beans and I add 2 beans".

Couldnt we buy a player with what we pay these stumps?

I'd imagine his brief is to get the club on the right track financially and running smoothly as a large enterprise should plus would expect that expertise n another particularly volatile industry would be a bonus but let's pretend he's just got a big red inked rubber stamp that says "NO" for whenever CW gives him a list of players he wants.
