Cheerio Hecky

I keep saying Carrick is our best option. Great tactical mind. Knows how to get the best out of his players, learnt his trade under Fergie. Would he come? I think so with the right offer. I would put the Blades a bigger draw for him than Boro. Even in this awful state. We can still finish above three others, but we need to act quickly. I think the board are waiting until after Brighton match to make the change. Makes psychological sense.

One of my biggest criticisms of Heckingbottom was that his substitutions are basically shit.
I struggle too remember any positive substitutions he has made in all the time he's been here.
In fact the only thing that surprised me last night was he did not bring Fleck on.
And it’s always after the team concede when we can all see it coming

Yes I agree, any new manager would only have the same tools to work with. But they might actually realise you have to use a screwdriver to put a screw in…not a hammer. Case in point: You don’t continue to play long ball with a team full of midgets.
Exactly

Every video, picture I’ve seen of them training, they’re standing about, laughing joking. I’m not saying the mood should be like Stalag 17 but fuck me, I’d like to see them with a sweat on, blowing a bit due to the exertion. I think some of the old fashioned fitness training is still the best, running up the stairs on the South Stand, cross country running. Now it’s all this technical bollocks, wearing bras under the shirts. The fittest team I’ve seen at the Lane was Dave Bassett. I can’t imagine he was into all this new crap. It also makes me wonder, are a few of them having one too many to drink with a few too many kebabs? Fuck knows but somethings got to change.

Championship runners up who sold their best 2 players preseason and have no budget and a full squad of injured players can’t compete with teams playing in Europe shocker.

Fuck me lads, give your heads wobble.

Write off Palace and Forest as we were still signing players and playing academy kids and you have 7 games left, of which only 2 were against teams in the bottom third, one of which was away and had a freak injury and the other we should’ve won.

Who went into this run thinking it would be easy? Games 3-10 our best return would’ve been about 6 points maybe by now if we’d somehow beaten Fulham away, and Everton at home.

Last night was SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than we played against Fulham, West Ham and Newcastle, but expecting a team like Man U to not control the game and allow us any chance is beyond ridiculous.

There will probably be a new face on the managerial roundabout soon if Wales don’t qualify in a couple of weeks, he’d do for me with Alan knill as assistant, if not go and ask Hibs how much they want for Monty.

When the owner is absent it would have zero effect apart from making it even harder for him to sell.
That’s part of the sad malaise that we are in. I think many fans are frustrated that we can’t do a damned thing about it.
Sadly, I can sense another bed wetter/happy clapper divide developing amongst fans at lane…that is never a nice place to be.

We just aren't very good, that's the answer.

Aye, Pep and Ange probably have their elite level athletes running cross country a couple of times a week to keep them in their toes...

Tactical nous and the ability to see out games would have us on 5 points minimum (Forest, Man City, Spurs, Man Utd) but we lack both and that surely is down to the manager.

Knilly at the game again last night.

Hi Stegosaurus here

Graham Potter would be my number 1 choice

Not sure the other twoo--I'd have to think on it.
Potter has allegedly said he wouldn't touch us with a barge pole. I've also heard Wilder told Abdullah last Monday he has commitments so can't start until 8th Nov.

I want another manager and coaching team in for one main reason. These bas**rd injuries.
It simply has to be down to player conditioning and methods of training. If we had near our full compliment of players available then we wouldn't be as bad as we are.

A new manager and conditioning team aren't going to heal bones, repair ligaments, sooth tendons or re-grow muscle tissue any faster than what we have now, so, the first and best 11 ain't coming back any quicker.

A new management team will be stuck with a Championship B team to see out the remaining 30 games in the toughest league in the world.

Rock, hard place. Fucked.

Come on Laney, you know you need to back up statements as bold as these with more than 'allegedly' and 'I've also heard'.

From where, who, when? If you can't include those things, say nowt.

BUT......might stop them or at least reduce them from happening.

Too late though isn't it. That Champ B team is still the team they'll be putting out and the club will be X3 lots of severance pay lighter.

I don't know the answer, but throwing good money after bad and rolling the dice on either a relative unknown up and comer or an out of work journey man doesn't feel like the right thing to do.

Monty needs more experience in U.K. football especially for the stuff thats going on in S2.Probably break his heart.

Some may say it’s an excuse, but thought Hecky was honest with his thoughts on the clubs aims this season. It’s about the money this will bring to the club. We are not in a position to change that. Guess it’s all about building a team for the next few seasons and keeping the club reasonably viable.
Hopefully we won’t create a new record in the Premier League for the points tally.
left the Lane last night feeling probably the best performance Of the season. Even though a world apart from Manchester.
Also the difference in warms up pre match were so different. Plus there shooting.
As I said different league. But for all that still left with head held high
