it certainly is Jim, but none more so than the general silence coming from the club. The summer has returned to being painfully slow with little or nothing to be said on the club website, in the media and on the message boards. The club hammered the official site with video's from Malta last week, but now we have returned to the odd Wilson comment and news of fairs and open days. The Star has run it's ink dry on stories of Monty and Evans and seems to have given up and I have never seen this message baord so slow before.

How we yearn for those heady days when the O/S was full of stories about Chengdu Blades, Fradi and Central Coast Mariners....

Moan, moan, moan, moan moan :)

The official line on Ched and Monty was that they were injured, perhaps its true and we also can't shift him until he can pass a medical.

Personally I'm happy if Ched doesn't get moved on, he'll do well at this level but it has to be in line with the realistic wage structure for this division.

Monty, on one hand we need his (or someone like him) guile in the middle, but on the other I think he needs to be playing at Championship level, he's at the prime age for us to recoup some money on him and it'll help Wilson's style of play to move him on

the pitch new grass growing live web cam is our only salvation

Even the pitch updates have gone quiet. When was the last one - 2 or 3 weeks ago?!?!

I want to know how the grass is growing

From 'The Stir';

United’s preparations for the match take place against a backdrop of uncertainty surrounding Ched Evans’ future after Ipswich Town confirmed they want to take the Wales striker to Portman Road.

With at least two other Championship clubs known to be interested in acquiring Evans’ services, United are hopeful of concluding a transfer with the next seven days.

With Cardiff signing Kenny Miller and Ipshize taking Emanuelle-Thomas for the season that leaves no one in particular remotely interested in a footballer with no brain and limited ability. We will be stuck with the pile of shite for three reasons;
1. His high salary, he will have difficulty accepting lower terms if offered.
2. His fitness - not too good so clubs reluctant to gamble.
3. He isn't actually that good.

If he stays it will be much of the same and he won't be prolific. His lack of goals comes down to his own poor reading of the game and his lack of bravery. He cannot beat a defender on a run and never anticipates where the play will develop to. Useless pile of Shize. Thick as two shorts and less of a footballer than Chris Guthrie.

Did Ched set fire to your dog or something?

No, she's fine. The difference is that she does big shits whereas Ched is more than a bit shit.
Value for money?
Get you a goal when you need one?
I'll bet my dog would be more effective than puppy boy Evans.

Monty, on one hand we need his (or someone like him) guile in the middle

Bloody hell, thought for a second I'd spent all my life mis-understanding the word guile when I read that.

Anyway here's a definition that I do recognise:

guile
noun /gaɪl/ n formal Definition
clever but sometimes dishonest behaviour that you use to deceive someone

Only time I think we can associate the Montster with the word is when he managed to get an improved contract off some useless dick at the club.

looks unlikely chedward will be moving to ipswich, they are close to signing jay emmanuel thomas from the gunners on a full season loan according to the bbc.

The fact neither have featured pre-season tells you all you need to know though, only a matter of time. All we can hope is that whoever we have lined up doesn't move elsewhere which has already happened with one player by all accounts.

.[/I]
Or it could be that they're injured as has been reported. Not everything is a conspiracy you know.

geez, there really is no hope for you is there?

The two highest earners who epitomise everything is wrong at the club and you want to keep them. These overpaid flops that have significantly contributed to our downfall and raped us in wages whilst failing to the highest standard.

we  hoof

Chedward update from Girona Blade on The Star website, not sure if this guy is ITK or not, but he talks a good game.....

'I would expect Quinn to still be around for the first game of the season but I doubt he will be here past the transfer deadline as Wigan should be able to meet Utd's asking price. QPR seem to be struggling to match the fee being asked for Monty though so maybe Prem teams don't have as much cash flying about as we think. I expect the Evans transfer to get sorted before the Oldham fixture as the Championship teams after him would all like to get their squads sorted before the first game. I understand Burnley have shown an interest recently which might force the hand of the other clubs that have enquired previously.'

He also mentions that a right back is lined up in another comment.....

'I think he (Lowton) will be one of our best players this season and might even move forward into midfield as he has an eye for goal and Wilson has a decent right fullback lined up on reasonable wages if Utd can move some of the remaining high earners off the wage bill.'

Sheffield United cut asking price for Ched Evans

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson is prepared to sell striker Ched Evans for less than their valuation of £1.5m.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Championship sides Ipswich, Cardiff and Middlesbrough.
The Wales international has scored 13 goals in 50 appearances since joining the Blades, who have been relegated to League One, for £3m in July 2009.
Wilson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It's no secret he needs to go off the wage bill, that was muted before I came."

Probably will go for an Undisclosed fee then. I really just want him gone and off the wage bill now to be honest.

Shoddy BBC editing there. Mooted, not muted!

Be lucky if we get £150k for the useless lump of lard.
He needs a new banjo - an effin big one.

So do a few geezers on here as well.

Boro accepted a bid from Swnasea for Leroy Lita so could this advance the "race" to sign our Welsh Wizard? - the only magical thing about him is his disappearing act on the pitch.

let him go to donny on loan for free . theyre after some emergency forwards
puts him in the shop window and gets him some games
gets him out of the way for a bit

his court case is now in Mold (Yr Wydrugg in welsh) on the 19th August

Thats just his first Crown Cout appearance It wil deal with admin matters and they may not even set a date for te tril then.

Possibly. I don't know much about contract law, but at the bare minimum i would think his contract would be terminated on the grounds of bringing the club into disrepute. I think we would have to pursue legal action against ched to get the money back though.

We would have to pay his wages if and until he is found guilty and then would be able to sack him on all sorts of grounds - the main one being that he can't actually perform his side of the contract as he will be in prison!

We wouldn't be able to get the wages back we paid whilst he was on bail as, at all times during that period, CE was (I assume) ready and available to perform his side of the contract.
