Ched scores

He needs to get fit their. Come back in Jan we assess him and then either play him (sell him or loan him back out).

If Sir Chris was to go for a player that for most of last season was mostly injured and hadn’t played much had a poor scoring record , over the last two years
Then decided to buy him / get him on loan our fans ( myself included) would be saying what the fuck he’s not good enough
He had one very good three quarters of a season with us , when we got relegated first , and Mccabe ( yes him ) kept the team together and destroyed the league for most of the season .
Then it all went tits up , going down to MK , then struggling to Wembley v Uddersfield
I’ve my own views of his immaturity that night ,
But unfortunately due to his own stupidity
he wrecked that part of his career
Hope it works out well for him but don’t think he’s be good enough for the championship at this stage

Why not?

I prefer to call it 'falsely imprisoned'

You can call it whatever you want, I wasn’t interested in the rights and wrongs, just the fact that he spent 2 years out of the game at the prime of his career.

How many starts? He only had a couple of league starts last season didn't he?

Yes, though he obviously had a few sub appearances on top of that and that barren spell also includes his last few months at Chesterfield. This loan spell isn’t just about scoring goals (which for me he still needs to show he can do at Championship level better than those ahead of him in the squad) but as much about showing he can stay fit, which he’s not been able to demonstrate consistently since he returned to the game.

If he's banging them in until January or the end of the season getting him back would be a no brainer. He's a long way from that at the moment though. I have to say, I was pleasantly suprised how good he looked until the ankle flaired up last season.

I can genuinely say I thought he looked appalling when I saw him. I didn’t see the Cup game when he apparently played well but he looked like he had very little idea about his positioning and didn’t really do anything of note. I’ll credit his effort v Norwich but he never looked dangerous.

Don’t mention Ched’s name in the stands, or that he scored. There’s a few lads who don’t like it (as I mentioned the other night).

He’s a Blades player. We have 3 strikers and he’s an option we no longer have. We could have loaned him after the window closed and after we got a striker in. But we didn’t.

Blatant foul in the build up to his goal though.

Wouldn't have got on the pitch at any stage in front of Leon, McGold or Billy (or Woodburn for that matter). Wouldn't have made a difference to the results so far. If he's to stand any chance at all of scoring goals again at United, a long loan at a lower league club is essential.

Makes perfect sense that he went out before we brought someone in, no matter whether we're light up front.

With how desperate we have been for a striker and the over inflated prices, if he was up to the job in championship he wouldnt have gone anywhere..

Sadly one stupid night has ruined an already short career for him!

Sorry if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Ched scored again today.

Good news for blades all round today then. I've been v critical of his form in the past, but well done Ched.

I'm surprised he can't get ahead of Lavery on the bench, then again he's hardly kicked a ball for us yet in his return.

Will be useful to bring him back in Jan if he keeps knocking them in. Time will tell if he can stay injury free.

Ched is a good lad but he's at his level. Can't see him ever kicking a ball for us again.

Talking of over inflated prices looks like Wankhorn is struggling to justify his price tag, subbed off today.
Absongalonga played and scored again and Johnson was on boroughs bench.
Wonder if Marriott enjoyed being on the wrong end of 7?

The fact that Ched scored last night for Fleetwood doesn't seem to have caused a ripple on these pages.

Sign of the times perhaps?

Right now I'd rather have
Sharp
Mcgoldrick
Leon
And now Washington

But I'd rather have him back in January than Woodburn.

I’d rather have ched back than keep woodburn. Woodburn has been a massive disappointment for me!!. Ched on the other hand will at least give 100% if he gets the opportunity?. The latest from Liverpool fans is that he will back at anfield in January looking for another loan move. UTB

Litterally my only worry about Woodburn going back early is that it might damage our opportunities for getting youngsters from premiership clubs in future.
It might not, I'm sure Deano will sing our praises but if his parent club blame us for his lack of games and chances then I'm sure a couple of other clubs might be sceptical about sending us their kids too.
I could be wrong though.

It’s a business. We are a club in the ascendancy and one likely to challenge at the top end of the table. If you were a Prem club and wanted to increase the value of one of your fringe players we are a very good choice.
