Contract starts from 1st JulyNot sure how true but apparently trippier hasn’t signed yet
Contract starts from 1st July
What he can do with a football at his feet is all that matters.
I think the point being made has escaped you.You realise that it is not just sales that are paid in installments, but purchases as well?
He had the most defensive interventions of any attacking player in the league which matches the eye test. He put huge shifts in, carrying the attack at times, being the only player other than Bamford willing to run in behind. But still being very disciplined and strong defensivelyWhat he does when the other team have the ball at their feet matters too.
We'll notice his absence. He really put a shift in. Great athlete. He had the most defensive interventions of any attacking player in the league which matches the eye test. He put huge shifts in, carrying the attack at times, being the only player other than Bamford willing to run in behind. But still being very disciplined and strong defensively
Have I missed something here? I really hope you're being facetious, it was incredible the amount of times Brooks tracked back and won tackles. What he does when the other team have the ball at their feet matters too.
Not sure I agree with your comment about lowering expectations.West Ham and Wolves don’t seem to be in a good position financially, lots of headlines about how relegation was bad for them.
From Brooks personal view I don’t see it as a great move.
From our view if we got what we wanted for him, then it’s the main thing.
Where we are as a club now is pretty poor, we don’t have a lot of space to move with financial fair play restrictions etc
Probably the biggest lowering of expectations for many years and one that our fans need
Even if he did, the financial situation would be the same. It's been coming for a while this and seriki will be the next to go,id rather Wilder fuck off than Brooks just wish Chris would do one
Can't agree with this. He regularly switched off in games allowing players to drift past him. Personally I could live with that given his undoubted threat with the ball at his feet. An exciting player that I'm sad to see leave but defensively he definitely had flaws.Have I missed something here? I really hope you're being facetious, it was incredible the amount of times Brooks tracked back and won tackles.
But we might have a manager who can handle personalities of players other than those he’d have a drink with at the pub.Even if he did, the financial situation would be the same.
I do. He’s gone to a club that appears to be on an upward trajectory. From Brooks personal view I don’t see it as a great move.
They're hysterical so it's now gospel that all of the above is fact. Not a Wilder hater, or cult member, can see his pros and cons, but surely we aren’t selling players because they aren’t personally liked by Wilder. Or won’t go drinking. Or have Christian faith.
True.Or perhaps:
We’re skint because we don’t have parachute payments
The owners can’t or aren’t putting big sums in
We have to pay the bills
We have the financial fair play (including the new limitations
We have valuations for players
We have a squad to rebuild and have to balance the books.
I don’t imagine Brooks will be the only player we sell this summer
Even Slimane did better at Norwich than he did with us and ended up at the World Cup, so I’m sure this will be a good move for Brooks. Very disappointed to see our best young player sold to another Championship club.I do. He’s gone to a club that appears to be on an upward trajectory.
Eh…..?One more outgoing incoming me think
That's the mysteryEh…..?
Does that mean someone signs then immediately leaves?
Or someone leaves & immediately re-signs?
As far as Brooks goes, I saw a player who has potential and a lot to learn.
If the ‘him & Wilder’ rumours are true & he’s in the last year of his contract, I assume the choice was take the offer from Norwich which is decent money OR let him walk away for nowt next summer.
All players have a valuation & there’s a time to sell when you’re not rolling in cash - which we’re not. Such is the business of football.
For all we know, he might have a caravan in Yarmouth.
Agree. Also maybe the lad wants to play in a club where the culture is not about how fast you can down a yard of ale.I do. He’s gone to a club that appears to be on an upward trajectory.
Slimane was always going to be in Tunisia's WC squad regardless of how he did this season, he's one of their main players and plays at a similar level (league wise) to most of their squad.Even Slimane did better at Norwich than he did with us and ended up at the World Cup, so I’m sure this will be a good move for Brooks. Very disappointed to see our best young player sold to another Championship club.
The problem is the game is moving to big, athletic players with decent technical ability. Thats Brooks.
His weaknesses; inconsistency and decision making can be improved with good coaching.
His ceiling is a Premier League player IMHO. We don’t have many of them.
Another example is Bogle, who had all the raw materials but couldn’t put it together with consistency. He also needed to improve his defending. Farke’s team has coached him up and he’s kicked on.
I can list numerous players who came good that we payed under 8-9m for. It's good business if Brooks wanted to go elsewhere, or wouldn't sign a new contract. Only down side is that it's Norwich.Norwich side are reporting £8m rising to £9m if they get promoted.
It’s less than we paid for Tom Cannon.
Shit fee.
Millwall away, he was unbelievable. You have to hand it to him: if he didn't like Wilder, if they didn't get along, Brooks never showed that in his application. We'll notice his absence. He really put a shift in. Great athlete.
I also think it’s a shame to see an academy lad leave, but we’ve lost other players before and it’s allowed us to grow…True.
We clearly needed a list of who stays and who goes.
Brooks will be more likely to end up on the leave list because of the points made about him and Wilder.
Personally I feel it's a massive shame, and Brooks should have been part of the rebuild not part of the leavers.. Him and Seriki last season were one of the positives.
Replicating that on the left should have been the goal this season.
People mention some of his flaws. Also true. Lad's 22 , so develop those those flaws out of him, rather than bin him off.
