Incoming? Ched Evans

Alan Nixon says on twitter that Bolton are exploring the possibility of taking him on loan. Although I'd like to see him play for us I guess it means he's getting close to match fitness which is a good thing.

Alan Nixon’s ITK credentials are, and always have been, overstated on here. He gets some things right – he gets plenty completely wrong, and with us I think he’s served us two bits of speculative nonsense. I doubt Sharp is near an exit, and Wilder has already said in interviews this month that Evans is going nowhere. That’s sensible if we’re being careful about his recovery.

I would like to see him playing a good run of games. Get him back fit for us, this season been a really bad one for him.

Hopefully can get over his injuries towards the back end of the season.

I never mentioned how credible I thought he was, I just posted a rumour to the rumour mill.

Can't see it, Wilder has said he isn't going out on loan but Lavery is and with the Sharp rumours he's not going to sanction another striker leaving.

I expect Ched's name to be the first on the team-sheet for Satdi though..

Very very unlikely IMHO - CW is not exactly a fan of Parkinson's style of play. If Evans needs to go out to get games (which means he'd be unable to be recalled this season) I can think of 20 better options than Bolton

Think* I'd rather have him back in the nick but still on our payroll than at fucking Bolton.

* I'm being overly dramatic. I don't really think this. I just really dislike Bolton.

Doesn't everyone!?

There has been interest in Ched & Billy, but no plans to loan either out as it stands.

Sharp though has expressed his disappointment at lack of game time, so might push for a loan.
Would be surprised if it happens, been told not.

If Billy's half the Blade he's supposed to be then he wouldn't push for a loan when there's only 4 months left of a season where we could achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Right.

Here it is.

We have 5 out and out strikers.

Leo.
Don.
Wilson.
Sharp.
Ched.

There will be a maximum of 2 of these to start with a maximum of 2 further on the bench.

As things stand, Bill and Ched are in 4th and 5th slots respectively (or 5th and 4th).

You do the math !

Something has got to give. Nixon may well be being a bit of a tinker, but based on the above, it’s more than likely there are elements of truth in what he states.

Both Ched and Billy will have suitors if a move is deemed appropriate.

The last Wilder said last week was that Ched had played and scored last week and that he was now knocking on Wilders door to play.
Wilder also mentioned those players that were hoping to be sent out this week.
Ched wasn't one of them.

Most if not all strikers need and have a degree of selfishness in them but surely Sharp must acknowledge his recent form doesn't warrant a starting place. When he has been given the chance (Bolton and Ipswich he's certainly not done anywhere near enough) The addition of Wilson and upcoming availability of Evans give CW even more options up front and as things stand Sharp is probably 4th choice and as such he'll need to be patient.

I must admit to being somewhat surprised to see Wilson being given the nod in the 0-0 defeat last week but having scored versus the time-wasters on Sat (as of course did The Don), I can't see Sharp starting anytime soon, apart perhaps v Preston

If he's really that desperate to play games (for anyone!) then he may well push for a loan but can you imagine going to Bradford for a L1 play-off push at best when you could be part of the most exciting end to a season at BDTBL for 30+ years?

Fixed it for you :-)

Think he would be torn if Wilder did sanction a loan.

My money would be on him going out, as he is increasingly frustrated with lack of game time with every passing week.

As things stand though, he`s going nowhere.

I have never and will never, "do the math".
I am more likely to wear a stars and stripes hat on July 4th and start eating turkey on the 4th Thursday in November than to ever contemplate math as a proper word.

5 is the number of Strikers you should have in the squad.

Oh, you mean "cunts", Boltons inhabitants are called "cunts", or so I'm told....
I think that also covers Preston, or Leyland to be precise, as my girlfriends' daughter and son in law live in Leyland and he's the biggest cunt I've ever had the displeasure to encounter (Liverpool supporter as well!!!)....
