I agree with others that have said that I don't think Wilder is going for him in this January, its a massive gamble to buy him the for fee that I would think Chesterfield would want (given our current financial income as a League One club) and that he's only scored 7 goals in 24 games, he's 28 now and I think quite frankly he hasn't proven himself yet, even at League One level. There's better value elsewhere, although Ched signing a new contract is clearly just to make sure they can get a higher fee for him, which is totally understandable and is a token from Ched to say thank you for giving him a contract.

I think thats pretty much how I see it. The contract renewal is a bargaining chip rather than a definitive "he's staying".

I've pretty much given up on any hope of him coming back. I just hope now that he doesn't sign for one of our rivals.... or score the winner if the final day game v Ches matters.
