Evans is trying to sue us for loss of earnings so he can go and do one

No, the Daily Mail reported that Evans was thinking of bringing a case against us. That's a huge difference as any lawyer this side of Saul Goodman will tell him he doesn't have a claim against a former employer for loss of earnings following the expiry of a contract.

If only it was that simple. What people say to publicly doesn't always fit with what they say privately. Most of the players are different to when Ched was last here so don't know him, then there are the players wives/partners who most likely won't like him for what happened. Getting a pass for the players night out with Ched there would be quite an achievement!

There are also fans, both men and women who don't want to sign him and then you have to explain it to the kids. I am not against signing him, but it's not as simple as he's sorry and got support from within .

To be honest I think what John Terry did to his team mate and colleague at Chelsea was worse.

And he's still classed as a hero for Chelsea.

Just shows how selective people can be regards ignoring morals of a player who helps bring success to their team.

For me I would have him back but we don't need him anymore. So I'd only bring him in on a contract stacked in our favour. Certainly wouldn't pay over the odds for him.

Trying to sue "Loose Women" too isn't he? Mind you, about time that bunch of fucking Harpies got brought down a peg or two.
His lawyers must be fucking pissing themselves. Rich, thick as fuck and with a massive sense of injustice. Perfect client for those who make their living doing things like boundary disputes over 100mm of garden.

I don't want anything to stop what's happening at our club right now, and he would risk that.

All good and valid points. Imagine if Evans took part in a player's night out, say in Sheffield. Can you imagine the stick he'd receive, especially if he came across Wendy supporters? And it makes you wonder how he'd be received at an awards do? Not exactly the upstanding figure you could easily point to as a figure worth applauding, and so it goes, the situations he'd find himself in that would, at the very least, prove awkward would be a PR person's nightmare.

I bet his girlfriend's father will be getting a considerable chunk of any future fees involving Ched. He'll see the opportunities to get his money back..

As will someone else who splashed out £3m to sign him.....Mr McCabe is not the sort of man who will happily watch £3m of his money smashing goals in for our neighbours down the road....for that reason alone, I suspect something may indeed happen in January...

I think we're past the need to sign him and like you said, it could potentially upset the applecart.

The guy has been cleared and whilst people should be leaving it at that, i've already had some sensible people raising issues from "i don't want him to be a role model for my son" to "he should never play football again". Extreme arguments that i can't agree with so i don't even argue, i just move on to a different subject.

He's a Chesterfield player now and seems to be relatively under the radar there, so i think from Ched's perspective, it will suit him better there. He probably needed that fresh start at an entirely new club

As for us, with Billy, Done, Lavery and Clarke we have a variety of options and whilst Ched will definitely score goals, i don't think we really need the off the pitch concerns/ divisions amongst fans and people within the club that Ched would bring.

I wouldn't like to say that he's toxic, but i'm at the point now where i think, why bother, we're doing ok.

Christ Josh Morris is on fire! Nice 3 assists for Billy though!

Don't think too many would have guessed it based on his stats, looks like this years Eoin Doyle

Had a look at his stats myself this morning and thought similar!

Fixed for you. :)

Link here. And, in another bit of muck-raking:

FOOTBALLER Ched Evans, sensationally cleared of rape last week, is not the first of his family to have his day in court. His late grandfather, fairground worker Terence Michael Evans, was an associate of notorius A6 murderer James Hanratty and a star witness at his unsuccessful appeal hearing in 1962.
He claimed Hanratty couldn't have committed the murder becase he was with him in Rhyl at the time. Hanratty was hanged in 1962 and Evans, described in court repors as a 'local villain', sold his story to a tabloid in return for a ten shilling note. He died in 1999.

And you know exactly how much about criminal law, the legal profession and Draycott Browne?

I think you're mistaken, I'm referring to the lawyers who'll be representing him in his civil cases, DB are criminal lawyers I believe.

And the civil lawyers are?
I don't know and I don't care. Whoever is acting on his behalf when he sues loose women or whoever. I'm not that interested, it was just an offhand comment.

Looks like his grandson!

He was never really Chesterfield's player for the long term. He'd either have been found guilty or moved on somewhere better.
