So despite the charges, and the fact he's been completely absent from all games in pre-season, Gary Speed has rather bizarrely called him up for the upcoming Wales friendly.

Hmmm, Gary Speed, wondermanager! ;)

As someone with, ahem, relevant experience, I bloody hope that 2 men and 1 girl situation is not seen as evidence of rape!

Seems a very dodgy situation.

Unless she'd made it explicitly clear before hand, ending up in a situation like that and being daft enough to think that she wasn't going to 'have her hands full' is naive to say the least.

I am not condoning forcing someone to do something against their will and I am sure the full evidence and circumstance will be presented in the crown court.

Rape and sex crimes have such a fine line and even if the two lads did nothing other than was consensual, it looks worse for them because they are footballers, young girl and of course two of them.

Agree with Darren. If the act of going 2's up on a lass was seen as evidence of rape, then plenty of people i've met should be up before a judge as well.

Not me i hasten to add.:)

I really don't know what you are on about here.

I am not sure how a woman "having her hands full" is relevant here. In that kind of situation you can pretty much tell whether or not a woman is into it/up for it. If she changes her mind at any point, then obviously the men desist straightaway. Keep to those simple rules and everyone is happy.

Mind you, if any of this is true

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3645691/Wales-star-Ched-Evans-quizzed-over-sex-attack.html

Ched broke the goldren rule of such things, never ever do anything remotely pervy with a woman unless she is fully in control of her faculties (and its also best to avoid the (though above the age of consent) very young!

Notwithstanding that, again, if the Sun report is correct I would fancy his chances in Court. It's not rape if a woman agrees to sex when she is drunk even if she would not have agreed if she was not drunk. It's only if she is actually comatose so cannot actually give consent that it is rape. If the CCTV evidence shows that she was off her head (and the police may well have taken a blood sample so that it can be calculated exactly how drunk she was) but not so drunk has to be comatose, then Ched's evidence that sex was consensual is more likely to be believed.

However, two men and one girl - not good.

(Very different from two girls and one man!)

Makes no sense to me this. If I was a wealthy and fit young pro footballer, I'd have more women than men present at my little hotel room gatherings. :)

Its all about male bonding and suppressed homo-erotic desire :-)

Oh sorry Darren, was just trying to find something more tasteful than to say that she would've known that she was going to get spitroasted and what I basically meant was that she would've been completely stupid to think that when she agreed to go back to the Premier Inn's Penthouse suite it wasn't to check the number of channels on the TV. At that time she has an easy way out if she says no before she goes back.

Of course she'll have known what she was getting herself into, i'm sure she'll have based her decision to go back on trusting the two guys to look after her and yes of course assuming that everyone plays to the simple rules and agree to stop when she says no then they wouldn't be facing the Crown Court later this month. But the fact that they have been charged suggests that she said no, but they didn't desist... which may not be the case.

Perhaps she had second thoughts the next day. How many of us blokes have had one night stands and regretted pulling the particular bird. I know its a far cry from someone forcibly making you do something, but those who've had a few drunken pulls in their youth will have had second thoughts after the event.

One possibility is that she genuinely cannot remember agreeing to do whatever happened because she was so drunk but she did, in fact, agree to it. In that case you would have a court case that went like this where both sides would be telling the truth:

Complainant: I can't remember what happened but I now know these two guys had sex with me (because of physical evidence and because they admitted it to the police). I would never agree to having a 3some so they must have raped me.

Ched and his mate: yes we had sex with her. She was waaaaayyyy drunk but she definitely said that she was up for a 3some and had no point did she seem reluctant.

If that is what is said (and the CCTV evidence shows she was drunk and not reluctant) then Ched and his mate should get off.

then Ched and his mate should get off.

This is the bit that I really struggle with.

IF (and presuming that its a big IF, because they're heading to the Crown) they haven't done anything wrong in the eyes of the law and they get off, then at best its a waste of everyone's time and at worst they're reputations are shattered, she may get a slapped wrist for allowing herself to be out of control due to alcohol and being irresponsible, but for the majority of the time (i.e. when the case was making headlines) she was anonymous.

I personally think that for cases like this, which stir up anger, that both the accused and the alleged victim should be anonymous and it should only be made public when the verdict is given. Its not in the public interest to know this sort of information until they are proven guilty

And finally, IF Ched is found to be innocent, then he needs to at the very least sort himself out. Its at the very least a warning to young lads that you shouldn't put yourself into these situations unless you are sure that all parties are reliable enough or sober enough not to renege

Of course if they are guilty, then string em up.

I tend to agree with anonymity for all parties in sex cases if and until there is a guilty verdict.

On the stupidy point, I think (a) young people will always do daft things and (b) men will always have attacks of penile dementia (though they get less serious as you get older).

As for stringing up, of course I don't agree with that.

Agree on both points Darren. It was put to me in a less eloquent way ' A standing dick knows no mercy'

I don't know if its just me but I wouldn't get a lob on if another mans nob was in sight.

I worked in a bar in Swansea with a really dumb bint who was desperate to be a WAG. She came into work all excited one Monday because shed had an orgy with four (yes, four) footballers. Sad thing is they all played for Northampton Town.

It's just you :-)

To paraphrase Adam Ant, male genitalia is nothing to be scared of....
