Don't be like that, it could just be a Leeds thing??Cheap booze is a terrible thing !
We didn't pay anything close to £500k to bring him back. The only person who claimed that figure was a rather dubious in character individual who was on the board of Chessie.
I prefer to listen to our own manager who was quite clear on the amount we paid being vastly below what was claimed by our Derbyshire brethren.
By all means, disagree with bringing the lad back, and it was always going to be a gamble, but it was at the end of the day, a relatively cheap gamble to make. Some you win, some you lose.
I personally had doubts about him ever getting back to being the player he was pre trial, but i also thought it was worth a shot to nothing. Its not worked out, we've outgrown him, and I think it's time he moved on. No hard feelings from me, unlike some who seem to love to hate...
I have absolutely no hard feelings about Evans at all.
Simply do not think it was the right or sensible thing for him to return to the Lane.
I hope he does well wherever he ends up be, that Fleetwood, Sunderland or wherever.
I do not understand why CW brought him back - I still think others at the club seemed to think it was the thing to do as though it was written in the stars.
It had been mentioned time and time again over the preceeding months. Probably even before CW was installed as the boss.
If you are referring to me as " someone who loves to hate" I am afraid that you are well wide of the mark.
I can't understand why people want to criticise others for saying either what they truly think or for simply stating the bleeding obvious.
Whose "moving on"? Evans?
Not a bad idea.
But then it does not seem to have been a good idea to re-sign him.
Although, obviously I have to say that with much trepidation as when I said that just after we bought/brought him back I was accused by the self-styled"great, the good and the always right" on these pages as being from S6. Obviously, they must always be heard and must always be right.
Still just imagine:- if it is correct that we paid £500K for him but sensibly did not waste it on him we coud have signed Waghorn from Rangers last season instead of him wasting his talents on that very limited stage with the pie-munchers in Ipswich.
We have spent millions on Evans for one good season out of 6.
Not disputing that. Thats a fair comment. Blame Kevin Blackwell for that one, not the lad himself. Evans didn't make Utd pay the first transfer fee or agree to give him £10k a week.
Blaming Wilder then? He said that it was his decision.Blackwell is not to blame for the peculiar decision to re-sign him.

My previous comment wasn't aimed directly at you. So no need to go defensive. I refer you to the title of this thread. Stating the bleeding obvious I know.
How this has got nearly 20 replies and a load of side arguments happening is beyond me.
Pavlov’s dog. Certain posters will always reply to threads on particular topics. That’s why social media is popular with advertisers and the like. You can use the same ‘trigger’ principles to make them buy shit. How this has got nearly 20 replies and a load of side arguments happening is beyond me.

Mixed with cheap hotel rooms and another arsehole alongside you as a mate, it can have catastrophic consequences.Cheap booze is a terrible thing !
He was terrible in two seasons in the Championship, including the relegation season. We have spent millions on Evans for one good season out of 6.
