And rather than ‘leaping to defend the Fourth Estate’, I did merely ask a question of which was unfair
He may as well not have bothered. Gutter press at it again. Mirror focusing on stupid tweet from Bellew rather than reporting on his interview. The media will only concentrate on the negative where Ched E
Are you saying he can't have those ambitions? I've got ambitions to play for England and play in the Premier League, and I'm 39 with knackered knees and no football talent.
Yes you did, but your first post sugggested all everyone had done was to 'report facts'. This was blatantly untrue as evidenced by the first few front pages I found after a quick Google.
There are far worse articles that go way beyond the boundaries of 'reasonable comment'. Ched knows he can't win and so has put it behind him. Sadly I think many of your 'colleagues' can't wait for the first minor misdemeanor.
Simon Jordan said that if he was Kevin McCabe he would have stripped Jessica Ennis' name off the stand as soon as she piped up and contributed hugely to putting the club in the position it was.
I couldn't agree more and it still winds me up thinking about it.
That we named a stand after her in the first place was totally pathetic, let alone generous and unnecessary. To then leave her name on it after she threw it back in our face was so pitifully weak and a total insult to ourselves. We did ourselves a huge disservice.
The silence from Ennis since he was found not guilty has been deafening.
Same goes for all the ignorant attention seeking preaching fuckwits who reported it so unfairly and said such vile, damaging things.
He also admitted that he’s never spoke to the media since leaving prison and he feels better to finally speak about it.
So he felt terrible for his family and friends for receiving abuse - but no word for the other victim in this case, the girl who didn't even make a complaint against him but ended up being the one having to change her identity and move from her home town after being abused and illegally publicly named by said family and friends?
This thread. This thread is exactly the reason why I was trepidatious about Ched doing an interview.
The whole thing belongs in the past and we need to move on, because every time it's brought up the same thing happens.
After around five years of it I thought we'd finally left it behind. The whole debate brings out the worst in some people, without fail, every single time.
And then dickheads pipe up who know very little about anything yet still feel the need to pass comment.
Well that clearly isn’t true, and is demonstrably false. We had plenty of discussion about this at the time too: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/i-fought-this-for-my-family-im-not-a-rapist-w3b3b28mp
Interesting that they have a headline calling Ched "a slimeball that treats women like dirt" right next to an advert saying "see all of Ola" and a picture of a scantily clad lady. The first one on the left hand side.

Perhaps actually looking at what I post rather than leaping to defend the Fourth Estate, would be a better journalistic tactic?
Seen some absolute bollocks from you but that’s absolutely beyond anything else. A patron of SUFC who was sexually abused says that a convicted rapist shouldn’t play for her club, and it makes her a cunt? Unbelievable. Shameful post.
We've had a few bad types.Marlon King. Convicted sex offender.
What did the patrons/media do/say when he signed for us in 2013?
I think he looks stronger than he did before, certainly not as quick though I agree.
It doesn't make her a cunt: It makes her a hypocrite who lacks integrity.
She would've turned her back on the club if Evans had signed, yet she wants a photo with Mike Tyson?
It seems that in some quarters there's a 'bloke's club' that views women as little more than objects to be used, regardless of the consequences.
but then he would have been guilty?Suspect he means better intelligence wise.
I think most players improve/ mature over time, however is Cheds body up it?
Does he still have the speed and strength? Probably not.
Agree he spoke well.
The only think he should have done is admit what he did was wrong and he was embarrassed and feels shame.
Let’s not forget, although he’s not guilty and not a criminal, totally deserves to play football at our club or any club
But his behaviour was still really poor and he should have quickly held his hand up about this.
Some people also believe that women enjoy sex just as much as men, and if a woman wants to get drunk and have a threesooricalme with two fit blokes she's entitled to do so. Remember, it wasn't the "victim" that accused anyone of rape, it was the police.
I don't think even Ched and Clayton back then saw this woman as an "object to be used", more a lass who was up for it. It's perfectly possible to have a one night stand with a woman without viewing her as an "object"
So he felt terrible for his family and friends for receiving abuse - but no word for the other victim in this case, the girl who didn't even make a complaint against him but ended up being the one having to change her identity and move from her home town after being abused and illegally publicly named by said family and friends?
In this case the murkiness of the events lend themselves to anything but there being an agreement in advance. I haven't used the term 'victim', I think it's inappropriate in this case. What I do think is that 3 people, possibly with little understanding of what could follow, participated in something that had profound consequences on their lives. Given what followed I have no problem with suggesting that the behaviour of the three adults concerned, as well as the unpleasant barrage from those who probably always will see the woman as a 'slag' (not a word I agree with), have contributed to a view that adheres to an almost historical idea that men can behave in whatever way they see fit. Which, of course, is nonsense.
Now he has been cleared, what exactly is she a ‘victim’ of? She was illegally named because at that time she was indeed the victim of a rape.
Now we know no rape happened, why is she a victim? And of what?
Why did she agree then ?You're suggesting Ennis did it for publicity ? Really? Lol
GREED
That's a new one...we did it to bail the Council out LOL
have you never had goals and ambition why are you so quick to jump on the lads back give him a break I hope he proves you wrongAmbitions to play for Wales and in the Premier League.
Awkward.
Who’s going to tell him?
Bear in mind that Ched's speedy acquittal followed the presentation of fresh evidence from other men who had had sexual relations with the woman. Ched and Clayton both testified that the woman had offered verbal encouragement to both of them, both before sexual relations occurred and during the act. Ched testified on oath to this in the second trial.
I don't think there is anything murky about what occurred. The woman told the police that she didn't remember anything because she didn't want to say "I went to a hotel to fuck a stranger and when his mate turned up I let him fuck me too" - perfectly understandable on her part to plead a loss of memory instead.
Why did she agree then ?
If we are looking for role models ,Ennis would be right down my list for my daughter. Millionaire who bans her friends and family from having phones at her wedding in case they take pictures ? Not my favourite person from many things I have heard from people close to her.
