Well I thought he would be back already. He had his operation in November I think?

It will make things more interesting with him back in the team plus Freeman and Brooks due to return.

A fit ched is obviously a bonus but how long to get to being match fit and challenging fior a match day position I would think is some time off, hope I am wrong mind because it would be brilliant to have a hungry, fit ched playing..

Going to be some disappointed players soon, how many won't get near the bench, thats presuming there are no more injuries though!

looking sharp he could well be the icing on the cake. What do you think?
He could be popping the cherry on the cake!

I thought he looked like he was getting back to fitness just before he went for the op.

Hope the lad is fully over his injury anyhow. Like to see him come on for the last half hour at Norwich and score a brace!

Same opinion as I've held for a long time. He's got a shitload of work to do before many will forgive him. If he gets back to full fitness and starts banging goals in, then fair enough. If he continues to look as lethargic and generally crap as he was early this season, then sack him off in summer.

If he’s over the imjury and got the all clear to up the tempo in training, he will d9 a mini pre season with the 23s then into the squad and then contend for a spot.
Be a month before he’s close to pressing for a starting spot based on performances rather than fitness.

Still too early to judge as none of us have seen him anywhere near full fitness and injury free.

His 30 minute cameo last night for the U23's was injury free (1 goal, 1 assist), so that's a start

fairy tale .. it’s bound to happen.. i wonder who has the film rights!

As someone who was operated on (different operation mind you to Evans) in November, I'm still in recovery and on crutches, so why the idea that a full recovery is on the cards?
It might not be for some time, so stop exciting yourself. I'm sure Evans wants to play yesterday, but it won't happen until the physio's and Wilder are convinced of his recovery and fitness.

Cheds not you Mr itsinyerblood with all due respect. :D

Might go to chezzy on loan rest of season to get pitch time and prove himself

Wilder was quick to rule out any loan of him out, which suggests either he may be in the squad soonish, or perhaps more likely because he’s going to be carefully brought back to full fitness over an extended spell in the U23s.

To be honest I think we’d be best off forgetting about ched for a while - luckily the strikers we have for are doing a good job thus far and finding the net.

Let him get back to fitness - he’s not contributed anything so far through injuries etc and there no point pressuring him to return before he’s ready.

If he gets back to anything like top form it’s going to be a welcome bonus but being honest we are a long long way from that.

A return to where ? Chesterfield ?
He wont be getting anywhere near our first team squad for at least a couple of months
No chance. He scored for the under 21s at the weekend. After playing with an injury I think he's gone up character wise in Wilders estimations.
He will get some first team game time in Feb, 100%

Having done nothing in the championship for about 10 years it would be Roy of the rovers stuff for him to comeback and do anything but on the run of results were on I'll take a miracle. The expectation around ched is ridiculous though, 6 years ago he had a great season in league 1. Let's lower the expectations shall we?

If there's one player at the club that I hope things work out for it's Ched.

A footballer's career is short enough but to be denied so many years due to a wrongful conviction is a disgrace.

I realise there are some on here that are hoping he'll fail due to principles but I look forward to him getting some game time against Preston and take it from there.

My own opinion is that id rather we hadn't signed him back and that the love fest at the start of the year was really odd.

I also believe that even if his conviction hadn't been overturned then the justice system we have is based on "do your time and then reintegrate into society without unreasonable limitations". If United think he's worth it then fair enough.

But I'd be hugely surprised if he's ever a player in the Champ. I just think too much time has passed

I'd love it if it works out for him.
