I would think that most squids are damp.
 
Its a simple equation Ched Evans + Sheff Utd = Media Circus and this will be the case for the rest of his career with us. There will be weekly nonsense headlines.some a little too close for comfort and there will be a slip up along the way from a tabloid and the Club/Ched will be pursuing them for libel.
 
I never realised that he'd initially served two and a half years for rape at the time, good job they put it in the story numerous times, I thought he'd had a long term injury or something

Well from what I've heard (and i do get the odd snippet of info!), I'd say it was Rodleys post about the transfer fee being £100k.

The half a million quid was a figure made up from the Chessie end to appease their fans from kicking up a stink - and they need the money. Utd aren't daft, they know Chessie are skint and haven't paid silly money to them for Ched. Ched's wages aren't daft either, probably (guessing here) about a quarter of what he was on at Utd before, and will be more incentive bonus based. He performs (no pun intended) he gets financially rewarded. To me, it'd a very low financial package for a potentially very good championship player and is hardly even a gamble.

Ched's move back to the Lane has been orchestrated for a long time now by the club / McCabe.

It looks like that is the complete deal including wages for however many years. Still don't think we will be giving him 10 grand a week, the sun is full of shit.

Oh dear. You think it would be normal IF we were paying him 10k+ p/w then? I'd say it would suggest we're compensating in some way. My opinion. Sorry if that may upset some delicate flowers.

We aren't paying him £10k a week though. It will be a way way lower basic wage. I think I've got more insider knowledge at the Lane than the Sun as they know shit and make things up.

I can't see him turning out to be a damp squid. A damp squib maybe, but not a damp squid. He just hasn't got the tentacles for it.

I find it as hard to believe as anyone else that we'd pay him that wage under normal circumstances. I've simply gone on to say that if we are then it could be due to something irregular.
 
What a load of rubbish this story is! after the Chesterfield game we were out with George Willis and he's still in contact with many people from the club and he said the ched deal is for £150,000 and it goes up every 10 games he plays. How could we turn that down and he also said George long was on 5k a week, which is why he won't move anywhere as this is the biggest contract he will get from now on.
