A common sense deal would be to pay Ched a basic £3K a week and pay Chesterfield a basic £100K, whatever it was BUT then attach loads of bonus incentives based in appearances, goals scored, promotion/ relegation etc payable to Ched and Chesterfield.
So regards Cheds wages, it depends? Do you quote his modest basic wage or quote his potentially high wage if he performs like a superstar?
Ched is an unusual case in football.
He could easily end up a total failure of a signing but could also easily end up a fantastic signing.
He does have the potential to be an upper Championship/ lower PL standard striker and if he performs to that level then United won't mind paying out higher wages or a higher transfer fee.
If he ends up a dud signing like some think, then he won't have cost us much. Worth a gamble to me.
