i can't see carruthers being on the bench for long and I can't see coutts Duffy or fleck being dropped

Don't think wilder is a 1 up front type so I could see us go to a back four

Also I think we are becoming a bit predictable

Maybe a 433

Moore

Freeman Basham eel oconnell

Coutts fleck carruthers

Duffy sharp lavery

Didn't like the "change of formation" title, want to see us carry on as we are, however your line up does look exciting, certainly in this division

Options options options ...... Carruthers signing gives us more . It also ups the ante for Coutts fleck and Duffy in terms of competition .

It's another smart move from CW

That this has happened so quickly is a real statement of intent too . I'm still nursing a hangover from yesterday and Wilder's signing players at the same time :)

Maybe Duffy might become more of an impact Sub.

Wilder seems keen on resting him or subbing him if we're comfortably in the lead

You could be right with 4 at the back - this is (as some have said in the past) CW's preferred defence, but he still apparently likes the full backs to push on leaving in effect 2 fast central defenders.

JOC would be ok, but EEL will struggle in this department, so not sure if EEL is in CW's medium term plans.

Let me put it another way, would you rather carruthers or fleck to be in the team or lafferty?

Don't know yet - haven't seen Carruthers.

Lafferty gives balance to the team - and CW likes balance. JOC looks a bit uneasy at LB.

What I don't want now is a change of formation to fit in a player that might upset the apple cart.

Some have suggested Carruthers for Fleck, which seems harsh - especially what Fleck did yesterday at Bury (did a lot of the dirty work).

Some have suggested Carruthers is a replacement for Duffy as he is attack minded.

Not sure anyone knows until we have seen him in a few cameo substitutions which may give us a clue as to where exactly CW sees his role.

Well spotted, FB.

Fleck has been coming in for a bit of slack in recent weeks and it has been very harsh.

Luckily, CW sees him as an important part of the first team as he dropped Coutts and Duffy yesterday but still played Fleck.

I have seen people write that Coutts has been carrying Fleck as recent as last week, I obviously rubbished it and he proved yesterday what a crucial player he is, he can play every role in midfield not just one, people have to watch yesterday's game back to see how clever Fleck is. He was instrumental in at least two of the goals yesterday, he is vital to our promotion push as I think Carruthers will prove to be and Duffy, aswell as Sharp staying fit.

Fleck, Coutts and Duffy can all interchange the attacking part of the pitch, it's going to be very exciting indeed and I can see a real pasting in the up and coming weeks. I will go for a sit down now, i've gone all dizzy. :)

Duffy might get a few starts playing up top just behind Billy with Done/Lavery and Clarke/McNuts ( if both still here) coming on from the bench/cover for Billy....

Think we're going to mix things up a bit as mentioned above...

Samir is here to provide serious competition for the main three, if he impresses and one of the other three dip he then could replace them as first choice.

I can't see the current formation changing, why change what's proved a winning formation?

Looks like bash is going to be on the bench then, if we change formation to a back four I dont think he will play, if we stay as we are then quite possibly he could play but it feels like Wilder wants to get Wright back in. Cannot see bash playing in midfield unless injuries /suspensions happen, even then his place as a midfielder looks over.

And I mean this in the best possible way because he's a good bloke and an honest, decent league one player, thank fuck for that.

The only issue with this is I think our defence looks far more solid with 5 at the back

With the same personnel, it could also very easily change to

---------------------Moore

Freeman----EEL------Basham----JOC

Coutts------Carruthers—Fleck—Duffy

---------------Sharp-----Lavery

Or

---------------------Moore

Freeman------EEL-----Basham----JOC

--------Coutts—Carruthers—Fleck

----------------------Duffy

--------------Sharp---------Lavery

I wouldn’t be in a huge rush to change things as I think the 352 is suiting us but this signing expands our options.

I agree dane, like to see us stick with the winning formation but with just one (at the moment) new player there looks like a few different formations we could play, all seem exciting, onwards and upwards.

What a load of rubbish that is, obviously you and Wiz weren't at Bury yesterday or if you were you were bladdered. Basham was MOM again as he was against Northampton, FFS why do you think CW picks him every game.

Can't see us changing from base formation of 3 - 5 - 2 tbh as it works well for us.

Tufty isn't likely to play just one upfront, and that wouldn't suit Billy Sharp anyway ....... plus we don't have the players to play 4 in midfield.

I think that it will be 3 from Coutts, Fleck, Duffy & Carruthers in CM now to give them all a bit of a rest .......

Hopefully a striker and a LWB to follow at the very least ....... hopefully quite soon ...... :D

Forget about how Basham played and think if we play four at the back like what was said in the post, is he good enough to be one of the four? My opinion no.

Also, is Basham better than three or now four of our main midfielders? My opinion no where near.

Read what's put then give a response to the post not an outburst answer to one of your favourite players.

I had a few but was no where near bladdered but for me, Freeman and Fleck played better yesterday and were more deserving of MOTM but I don't give accolades like that out, that's for kids on computer games. :)

Basham has been consistent this season but I think Wright has been better and we look like conceding less with him in the team. All our midfielders have been a class above Basham this season and that's why they should play when fit. It's nothing against Basham, I just think we have better options in our main first xi.

So where will he be playing if everybody is available, I am not knocking basham, I am simply suggesting where he is going to fit in in the future, and no I was not at bury,
