Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but interesting section on United website about notice needed for fixture changes … if correct for once a move in the right direction ….
Within seven days of today's EFL Fixture Release, all matches selected for broadcast for the period to the end of September will be announced, and before a ball is kicked of the 2024/25 season, all TV selections will be confirmed for the period up to the FA Cup third round in early January. This is a landmark commitment, providing fans and clubs up to five months' notice, an increase from the five weeks' notice given across the majority of the 2023/24 season.
Until S24SU forum members are consulted via a poll, with each of us getting a chance explaining our jobs and commitments and how we will be personally impacted by kick off changes- a kick off that is not 3pm on a Saturday is unacceptable.

It’s a shame that it’s Friday night, as we usually get decent turnout at Preston. Us mid-range loyalty points wallers usually secure tickets with ease.

No
We'll ask for an initial 2500 (about a third of what we could have)
Then the club will wait and allow all them with 50,000 + points make their minds up, fuck about waiting for their mates who only have 30,000 points, and wait to see if the bloke who drives the car gets a ticket.
By the time they've sold about 1800 of the initial 2,500 it will be too late for everyone else to make arrangements and they won't fancy going to an away game on their own because they could only get one ticket despite there being several hundred left, and then have to sit on their fucking todd all day
To be fair, last time we played at Preston, I decided to go about 2 hours before the 3pm Saturday kick-off, drove up from Sheffield, bought two tickets at the ground with no loyalty points at all, and went in the away end about 5 minutes before kick-off.

It was great and felt like something from a bygone age.

Anybody who wants a ticket at PNE will get one. That away end holds 5600ish Leeds pigs Sunderland all fill it I don’t see why we can’t for the first game of season could even be a little Blackpool trip on cards it’s the perfect away day for first game of season imo

When is Brewster, RND booked thei

14 months ago after a beating them 4 1, we were on our way to Premier League league dream world . What will happen in another 14months

It's impossible to predict anything regards Sheff United because
we still have over 10 new players to come in.

When we play our first match away at Preston...our fans won't recognise half the team.

It is a long way from the pitch if you sit at the back, though.

we didnt fill it in our promotion season think we took 4k and should have filled it that day hate to say it but pigs do travel in bigger numbers than us and dont really know why when weve over 20k season ticket holders i reckon 3k with it being a friday night and on sky

Tbh the Friday night is a big thing rather that Saturday 3pm. I’ve been twice to Preston. One was first game of season few years ago we took around 3k and other was 2022 I think took about 3500/4k. That was the promotion season. I’m sure we can take more this time UTB

hope so sra because we really should be mind from what ive heard it does sound easier for wednesday fans to buy away tickets than it is at the lane possibly by a too rigid points system although do think its a bit of a cult thing with pig fans

If fans had any backbone we would boycott until this new TV Schedule system with the EFL games is stopped.

Today they’ve got rid of 2 Saturday 3pm kick offs and replaced them with a Sunday 3pm and a Friday 8pm, occurring in the same f*****g month!

Then they have this advertising campaign where the EFL is being ‘welcomed to the show’ and then boasting how fans can now watch 20+ games from home.

Since when has the needs of the fan at home being taken more seriously than the fan in the ground. Fixture changes as one-offs are fine but now they are a permanent change and we’ll be lucky to have 8 home Saturday 3pm kick offs this season.

Watching the blades means so much, but 18,000-20,000 blades weren’t getting season tickets in the 6th year of league 1 because of the wonderful football. It was the routines of a Saturday 3pm. I’m in my 30s and am frustrated by this, never mind blades who have been supporting for 30,40+ years who have now found their normal routine, effectively destroyed.

Grassroots will be effected also.

Boils my blood and I hope it’s all a big ploy to stop this 3pm blackout, which now is redundant as it’s purpose was to make sure sky couldn’t put nearly all the games on TV, but it turned out they underestimated Sky. Sky have no problem having the audacity to transform the EFL calendar to put an extra few quid in their pockets.

The 50/50 fan who decides whether to go or not will now not go. Crowds WILL fall, and the spectacle of football will get worse.

UTB

Watford change doesn't affect me in the slightest and opens up a Saturday to watch someone else. Hull is a bit of a ball ache (when I did Hull away it was also a Friday night and a baltic one at that), but I'd still imagine it'll sell out, it's not the worst place to have to get back from on a Friday

Grassroots will be effected also.

Grassroots gets my attendance at two FA Cup qualifiers I wouldn't otherwise have attended as a result of these changes. If you care about lower level football, use the newly free Saturdays to go to Hallam or whoever

Looking at potential away games for this season (don't travel too far) and all good ones seem shite KOs times.. never done Millwall or Mboro before but looks like they're midweek.

Bet Leeds gets changed..

Oh well ticked York off 🙄
