Expecting -2 points after the first two games but hopefully some new signings in by the more difficult 3rd and 4th match to make us competitive.

Just said in shoutbox, Our game on 9th i think will be moved I think to either friday or monday, barnsley play rotherham on 9th as well. Dont think the police will want a derby match as well on rememberance Sunday.

First game will be interesting gauge of our appetite for the season. Massive away end at Preston, will we fill it?

Whoever designed this display needs fucking shooting. Just list them in order from earliest to latest. Fucking woke marketing cunts.

No
We'll ask for an initial 2500 (about a third of what we could have)
Then the club will wait and allow all them with 50,000 + points make their minds up, fuck about waiting for their mates who only have 30,000 points, and wait to see if the bloke who drives the car gets a ticket.
By the time they've sold about 1800 of the initial 2,500 it will be too late for everyone else to make arrangements and they won't fancy going to an away game on their own because they could only get one ticket despite there being several hundred left, and then have to sit on their fucking todd all day

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but interesting section on United website about notice needed for fixture changes … if correct for once a move in the right direction ….
Within seven days of today's EFL Fixture Release, all matches selected for broadcast for the period to the end of September will be announced, and before a ball is kicked of the 2024/25 season, all TV selections will be confirmed for the period up to the FA Cup third round in early January. This is a landmark commitment, providing fans and clubs up to five months' notice, an increase from the five weeks' notice given across the majority of the 2023/24 season.

Wanted a home match first but not a bad start. Can i.agone a hard fought draw against Preston will then leave us with no points for the home match v QPR!

Agree but for me the special fixtures of the season are
1st match of the season, Boxing Day and last match of the season.

As Meatloaf once said.....2 out of 3 (at home).....ain't bad.

It's refreshing to see us playing proper clubs with proper fans in proper grounds and, perhaps, thinking we might win a few.

If you want even more proper clubs with proper fans....then non league football is so much better and we'd win even more.

We should always be aiming for the Premier League because (in reality) that's the only league that matters.
It's a totally different world compared to the EFL.....but agree that the Championship does offer some old world charm.

I believe it is just a one off gimmick for the opening weekend
It might be for the entire fixture list, but given that there are more games this season, i'm guessing the 12:30 slot will be preferable for Sky Championship games.

Preston away on the first Friday isn't great either

The sooner they lift the 3pm saturday blackout the better

Sorry but he won’t
Didn’t see anything from him to support your opinion to which your entitled
Clearly not good enough to be a PL keeper last season.
However he will not be as exposed this season and will have had time to settle into the area and with a new squad.
It seemed to me that he was blamed for a variety of problems last season which were not of his making. I agree Wes was better and we may get someone better than him this season, but with a decent squad ahead of him he will be fine.Remember after one season in the Championship several thought Wes was outstanding !!
