If we're signing a CB permanently then I thought Heneghan from Motherwell would be the best value choice, especially given that no one's guaranteed to displace the current starters.

Don't know why we'd be spending this money on a CB now.

What type's most likely anyway? RCB, CB, LCB? Cartver-Vickers looks like the RCB option, and we wouldn't spend £2m on anyone to compete for O'Connell's place.

Stearman, O'Connell, Basham, Wright, CCV. I'd say we're just about OK there - although I'd have rather gone for someone like the above permanently and not gone for CCV. I don't think we need to spend what funds we do have on CCV and another centre half, prioritise funds elsewhere.

Egan hasn't been first choice for the best part of a year now he was way behind dean and Barbet but we are expecting him to step up now Harlee Dean has gone.I'd be very surprised if the club sold him this late in the day as we would only be left with Yoann Barbet and Andreas Bjelland who are both left footed and one of them not very good
