Even Clough is now realising this . Season too late though . albeit he did try with Harry , Butler , Collins . No idea what happened .

All appears not well and rosy at Derby , at the moment , so watch this space for more coming our way.

For those who claim Clough doesn't acknowledge his mistakes, well he's gone and done it now. An admission has been made, the absence of those creatures referred to as center-half's is to be corrected, and I suspect we'll be looking at the arrival of at least one, if not two, players who can shore up our defence. One of my brother Blades popped round to see me and got into quite a lather about this particular weakness, claiming that what we need are two, unceremonious motherfuckers. The type who would have no qualms in going through a brick wall if that's what's required, but my take is a tad more flexible in that as long as they impose themselves they can be a Division 1 Hansen and Lawrenson for my money (well I can wish can't I?).

I only added the wish list because they, especially Lawrenson (a thoroughbred of a player), were about as good as I've seen. And yes, when necessary they would employ the dark arts, but they were that good it was a seldom called upon requirement.
