Think that what this thread reveals is exactly why guys like Wilder become managers and we, the posters on this forum, are often found to be opinionated, convinced of our own perceptions, yet we seem bereft of insight or man-management.
CCV has grown into the position at the centre of our defence. Look back to previous comments about his performances, many of which were glowing. Yet one under-par performance and it's off with his head! Cut the lad some slack, I would imagine that CCV is as aware as anyone of what happened, and if he's got anything about him he'll push that chest out and show grit and resolve, ensuring that the standards that we've come to expect are returned to.
It's the nature of supporting a team that supporters and their opinions never cease to amaze. By all means if a player is constantly poor the manager will ensure that he doesn't get close to the first team. In CCV's case a little patience is what's called for.
