Let’s be brutal as football is brutal after tonight’s performance he should be well and truly dropped, diabolical back pass and he nearly repeated it later on
OK, I'll be brutal. If you think a player should be dropped for making a mistake, you're a fucking idiot.

CCV at fault , appeared low on confidence, QPR howler too, needs confidence building but agree rest him for Saturday , think Brum will target him with one Che Adams,

Think it was the 'what do we need in January' thread I said we'd struggle with Fulham's pace but hoped their players didn't have their shooting boots on. They did but we gave them a boost too! Still need pace at the back but last night was a taster of what things would be like higher up if we get there.

Young lad, made a mistake, poor game last night, this after being a contender for MoM at Burton, the ups and downs of being a young player trying to make his mark in the game,it happens,no need for ridiculous over the top criticism

Think that what this thread reveals is exactly why guys like Wilder become managers and we, the posters on this forum, are often found to be opinionated, convinced of our own perceptions, yet we seem bereft of insight or man-management.

CCV has grown into the position at the centre of our defence. Look back to previous comments about his performances, many of which were glowing. Yet one under-par performance and it's off with his head! Cut the lad some slack, I would imagine that CCV is as aware as anyone of what happened, and if he's got anything about him he'll push that chest out and show grit and resolve, ensuring that the standards that we've come to expect are returned to.

It's the nature of supporting a team that supporters and their opinions never cease to amaze. By all means if a player is constantly poor the manager will ensure that he doesn't get close to the first team. In CCV's case a little patience is what's called for.

There were plenty on here who lambasted EEL last year as he was "prone to the odd error" (not my words). And Basham before him. As for me, I'd be happy with all three of them in the team.

Not too bothered about EEL but he was more than good enough for L1.
What I find surprising is that a lot of our supporters don't really get what Wilder is doing, how he's turned us round.

CCV and Basham were both badly out of position for the 3rd goal. It looked very much like they got their roles muddled up as who was right sided centre back. CCV has looked ok and often good at centre back but last night against one of the divisions best wingbacks we got exposed! It happens, if we had had freeman or Baldock it would have been easier. But despite the errors this team has just bucket loads of character and despite the loss I was there at the end to applaud them off. It was a good entertaining game......and we can't win them all

Dish the language out fellow Blade then expect it back, or didn’t you think so lol
At least I edited mine out
Your response just confirmed my initial thoughts. You don't need to edit things out on here, we're grown ups.

Hope Wilder sticks with him, he’s going to make mistakes at times but I think he’s been class so far this season.

You drop players when they either have a run of bad form, tactical reasons or that player is tired.

You should NEVER drop a player for making a mistake, that would be terrible management
And would send a message to the players that 1 mistake could mean they are out of the team.

Carter-Vickers has been playing well and has a very bright future.
