What went on with him and our fans. I didn't see anything as seems I was on my way out, but the Coventry fans are saying he made gestures to our crowd.

He got some abuse from our fans, he offered someone out, nothing happened. You know the drill.

Very good goalkeeper.

But a scumbag shithouse.

When he went down with the heart attack / stroke / seizure, as we were attacking, he couldn't stop himself laughing at the end.

We can but hope that he suffers a serious career ending injury

this new trend has to be stamped out quickly. Seeing as the keeper can’t be removed from the pitch then an outfielder should be taken off for a minute then see how many suddenly fall to the ground and require treatment.

We said exactly the same.

It was like having a US style time out.

Coventry were under pressure as we kept building up a head of steam.
The ball is no where near Rushworth but he just decides to go down needing lengthy treatment.
It looked a deliberate tactic.

During that treatment (stop in game), all the Cov players go to the bench to receive tactical instructions from Lampard regards how to see out the last 10 to 15 minutes.

Sub keepers should be stripped and ready to step in immediately if a keeper is injured. The game can't continue without a keeper so I don't get why they can't be easily swapped until the physio has dealt with the injury, then easily swapped back. Rugby manage it with no issues.

I think a keeper should be treated as any other player and leave the field of play either after on field treatment or to receive treatment with an outfield play taking over the jersey. After the prescribed time he should be waved back on as an outfield player until a break in play allows him to put the jersey back on

Someone told me he pulled out a snub-nosed Uzi from the back of his shorts and started waving it around at our fans. Obviously, this might not be true. It could have been a Glock.

He did what our goalkeepers have done over recent years and took the sting out of the game.

Wes used to have a sit down every game just to waste time, Cooper is similar and even did it against the grunters at the weekend during their “best 10 mins of the season”.

All Hecky's fault. He started it allowing Wes to take 5 minute rest when our squad was paper thin due to injuries.

Reap what you sow, goalkeeper says hello

Quite a lot about this on ‘Today’s ref’ thread. It is a curse that is being coached into keepers from a young age. Needs stamping out as soon as possible. Rushworth was particularly bad with the crowd - that is unnecessary, and could create a serious situation for him one day.

Bit harsh pal, even though that's a comment buddy!

We've done it before sadly. Wes used to do it a fair amount when we wanted a stoppage or what not.

Part of the game management whilst there is no clamp down on it.
Obv. time get's added to the injury time but means you lose the pressure or momentum.

What I haven't seen much this season is clamp down on how long keepers are taking for goal kicks. Something that is supposedly being clamped down on.
They take over 30 seconds sometimes from sides that are slowing it all down.

A way to clamp down on it could be that if your keeper just goes down for a few minutes perhaps an outfield player has to leave play till the next stoppage or for say 2mins?

Because keepers generally speaking down often really require treatment. So it would stop keepers taking the piss.

It's absolutely infuriating and it's the one thing that the FA need to stamp out next season without delay at all levels.

It's happening in a lot of games now and we seem to be having a 'time-out' in both halves during the 20-30th minutes.

They've clamped down well on the goalkeepers spending too long with the ball in their hands, this is next. As other have said, a full 30 seconds off the field for a nominated player every time it happens, and make sure it's a full 30 seconds with the ball 'in play', too.

utb

Coventry also took an age to take a throw in when they had an outfield player off the pitch following treatment.

I don’t blame them for doing it as all clubs do exactly the same. What pisses me off is the way the game is refereed and how the rules allow this type of shit to take place.

As for the keeper injury bollocks, the clock needs to be transparent to everyone in the stadium and tv. What winds the crowd up is time wasting taking place and then not seeing it added on. If we all see the clock has stopped, no one will care as time isn’t being wasted.

I’d also introduce a time out for each team, it’s better for the game to be stopped in that way rather than faking injuries.

It can be eradicated very quickly. Kick him when he gets up.

That would be great to watch! It would be so much fun seeing them desperately trying to win the ball and get it out of play.

Could also have a rule where if the team commits a foul the keeper must stay outfield.

My son’s team when he was younger and in the UK had a very good goalie, but he’d drive me insane by dropping to the floor all the time with a big grin on his face. Even when it would be beneficial to get the ball moving quickly. He’d seen it on TV and found it hilarious to wind people up.

I’m fairly sure IdLiketoRogerMoore will have come across the player in question, he’s now a 🐷 academy keeper and plays for SY Schoolboys. I do wonder what he does now the 8 second rule has come into place, but I haven’t seen him play for a few years.

I guess with the 8 second rule he will assume the ref will count to about 20 and still do nothing about it…

That seems to be the common approach.

I ref here in Houston, mainly because it’s a good way for my eldest to earn some money (they pay between $60 and $120 per game and at 13 it’s good money for him). I have to drop him off and wait with him so I did my licence as well and I just pick games up when he refs. It’s ironic because I hate refs and think that they’re all virgins who have never played the game and now am I one of them 🤣

One of the things I’ve enjoyed this season is the 8 second rule, I’ve given quite a few corners for keepers pissing about. I normally give them 10 seconds.

Also players should be banned from going to the sidelines or booked if they do. All this shit is just a thinly disguised way for teams to have a 'quarter time' where the manager can disrupt the other side when they are on top and can change tactics and talk bollocks to his players

That's the first time our GK has ever done it. You've done it a lot. You've done it against us before and even had to do it against Wednesday.

I was unhappy with Rushworth doing it, but then thought about how many times it's happened to us. Still wasn't happy. It needs to be stopped.
