Cannon to start firing!

Clear to see what his game is. Intelligent movement off the shoulder. Burnley defended him brilliantly for the most part. A lot of runs that put him through against most defences. The movement for the goal was as good as anything you'll see. You can't defend that.

I may have missed some but from memory that's pretty much the 1st proper chance he's had since he arrived and he scored it.

Plain to see from the goals he scored at Stoke that he needs service and has never been a lone striker which begs 2 questions. Why was he bought if that's the case and, once bought, why have we not tried to play to his strengths?

Good goal that, in a fairly decent game plan. Two up top looked half decent, and we looked solid apart from two brain farts.

He had a few decent chances off the bench in home games. He had a good one vs Boro. Another not quite as good in the same game.

Good finish today, justified his starting place and looks so much better in a front 2, so does Moore, Campbell probably the only 1 who can play the lone striker.

If we are going to persist with 4-4-2 (I hope we do), I would like to see a bit more cohesion between him and Moore, they were a bit too far apart sometimes when we played it forward to one of them, when one challenges for the ball in the air, the other has to come closer to receive the knockdown.

Thought he looked half decent alongside Moore and it was a very good finish!
As ever UTB !
Other than the goal what did he do? Every time he has half a chance to get in he’s either outpaced or outmuscled by the defender, offers nothing for me

I thought he was decent against by far the best defence in the league

Yeah but that is the pairing isnt it.

4-2-3-1 Cambell + Brewster
4-4-2 Moore + Cannon

Moore was completely ineffective after 60 minutes.

Id assume that will be the pairing going forward, unless it's Campbell + Moore in a 4-4-2.

I suppose Campbell + Cannon could work to a degree, as they are both good finishers (we're yet to see Cannon at his best) but up against stronger CB's in the air, will either of them cause enough problems, Campbell can hold the ball up.

Today Burnley played how they play. Unexciting, organised, effective. Their centre backs are really strong and no surprise that they don’t concede many. Like we didn’t when we had Souttar.

They weren’t any better than us today, they definitely had the luck and were more controlled, but definitely not better.

That said, the two best teams across the season rightly go up. If the rest of the season works out like that, we will go up too as we are consistently the third best team over the season. It probably won’t tho.

We need to get some sort of momentum back over the last two games to give us some confidence in the play offs.

If we do manage to scrape up and keep wilder, we need to freshen up the coaching staff at least.

Cannon played with a partner instead of up top alone and he scored. Who would have thunk it? 🤷‍♂️

Their centre back Esteve is destined for better things.
"Offers nothing" but scored a cracking goal.
