Marsh has been scoring for fun this season in the U21s. Surely he’s worth a try to bring on as a sub rather than Cannon. He certainly can’t be any worse and would at the very least put in the effort that Cannon seems to lack.

Someone will no doubt come on with the “Wilder sees them in training” line. Which he does, but he also sees them in matches (or doesn’t, in the case of Marsh and One) and I honestly don’t understand what he’s seeing in Cannon to continue giving him the minutes he’s getting.

He's a tough watch...I can forgive almost any shortcoming in a player but lack of effort isn't one. He just does not look like he wants to be here.

I'm actually feeling a bit sorry for him. It can't be a nice place to be as much as we might think a very good wage softens the blow.

I could never feel sorry for any footballer stealing good money.

Last season Cannon scored 9 goals in 22 appearances for Stoke which looks good, but it includes 4 scored v Portsmouth and 3 penalties. I saw him a few times for Stoke and he was unimpressive playing very much as he has done for us. I was surprised Wilder wanted him and am not surprised with his performances since he arrived. I can't see him improving and see much more potential in Oné. Wilder did say Oné had been ill so let's hope he gets his chance when available. I do think that the penny has started to drop in this case
