I supported the Brewster purchase even at £20 million plus as we were desperate for a goalscorer at the time. But those involved should have drawn the right conclusions about his injury record. It's injury proneness rather than lack of ability that has hampered his career. But Brewster was given more support and time than Cannon I think who cost a lot less. I think is worth £10 million in today's market. I don't think Brewster will command a transfer fee ever again. Cannon will never be the main striker, the number 9 but he plays well off a lead striker. We never played to his strengths before. Glad to see him finding the net as I always thought he would come good given the right support/system.

Brewster is the worst signing we've ever made considering his fee. Similar ability to Adrian Littlejohn who cost nothing, and I'd probably rather Littlejohn.

I really hope Cannon continues this form. He's a decent finisher, he reminds me a touch of Ched Evans. He's clearly a confidence player and needs a run of games in the side to continue his form. Fair play to him.

Disagree.

I think Brewster was a far better footballer.
Brewster was actually pretty good at linking play and very effective in counter attacking situations.

They share a lack of football intelligence in common.

In Cannon's favour, a decent shot off both feet and an ability to strike early. He is also better at stretching the play, but has no strength to retain possession (which Brewster didn't lack).

Agreed there he does see build up play happening and makes some good off the ball runs. If played in the right system you can see why he gets goals and it isn’t a fluke, many, I can see many more from him

Good call on Ched Evans similarity. Just keep him away from any hotels in North Wales!!!

Which, at the time we signed him, was what exactly?

At he risk of stating the obvious - tonight he did fuck all other than score.

Fine in games when he scores, but when he doesn't, he still looks awful.

Brewster looked much better as a footballer but never fookin scored.

Swings and roundabouts I guess
Disagree. Thought he was good overall tonight.

He is a proper fox in the box striker

Every time we pick up the ball he looks to make runs

He is a solid striker who feeds off chances

We are now playing a different brand of football, far more attacking compared to last season and in all honesty better to watch since first time in premier under CW, so strikers now become goal scorers. Brewster never had a chance of scoring goals here imo he was the wrong choice far too young for what we needed at the time as for Cannon same thing as last season we’d score a goal then shut up shop and that’s no good if you want your striker to score.

Cannon looks a natural finisher when the chance is there.

There are still large flaws in his game but he has improved and now at least looks like a Professional footballer after looking nothing like one for the last 12 months

One was the worst signing we’ve ever made, the other is an average Championship forward who was overhyped and we slightly overpaid for.
