Can we beat Bolton?...

Not wanting to ruin any of the usual prediction threads here but interested to hear some early thoughts.

Evidently there is a lot of frustration amongst players and supporters after Saturdays result. How will the team react, I wonder?

Bolton WILL be utter twats when we play them. Kicking lumps out of us whilst rolling around on the floor every time we go near them, you just know it. It will take a strong and decent referee to manage this game but asking for one of those in this league is like asking for shit sandwich that tastes good.

I still think we can out play them but can we beat them? Hanson's prescence up top should make it interesting. What do you think?

I predicted a draw some time ago and would take it to be honest. Also I sincerely hope that tosser Madine gets a red.

My only concern is how we deal with defensive set pieces against them, having Hanson will help but they are a team of big lumps.

More of the same from Saturday and we'll be fine. Hopefully more clinical up front but we should be able to dominate the ball again and work them.

More of the same from Saturday and we'll be fine. Hopefully more clinical up front but we should be able to dominate the ball again and work them.

Both Bolton's goals came from set pieces (although the second was taken short) where they had pushed up their big centre halves and won headers in the box. Will EEL be recalled to help deal with this threat?

Of course we can beat them, their confidence will not be brilliant since they haven't won away since boxing day and only won 2 games this calendar year. But in an atmosphere like there will be, they will up their game and know that if they kick lumps out of us they have a good chance.

Scunthorpe came and tried to rough us up, and I guess it worked as they came away with a point. If they get an early goal I'd fear for us, we need to stay fairly tight, and can't afford to give away silly free kicks near the box as they'll punish us.

I'd say a draw is the most likely outcome really, but if we play as we did for the majority of the game against Scunthorpe (particularly first half) we'll win.

They only have the washing machine so we'll be rate! I am sure he'll go into a "spin" and "clean" a few of our boys out and end up getting sent off to go for an early "wash". Then when he's gone we'll "hang them out to dry"

What worries me is that other teams only need one chance and get a goal . We need 15 chances to get one . We lack the quality to punish teams in the final 3rd. Think it could be another 1-1 like the Scunthorpe game.

if we play with the same tempo as v Scunny and have a bit better luck then yes.
