I knew that Hidegkuti ripped England to bits by dropping deep and moving all over the shop, but I didn't realise that Wright wasn't the Centre Half. I do know that Wright was sold a dummy when Puskas did he drag-back to score. The wonderful David Squires depicted Wright being sent so far out of the game that he ended up running beyond the white cliffs of Dover, but unfortunately I can't find that cartoon on line.

Don Revie was a particularly big admirer of Hidegkuti, and started playing that way himself. 'The Revie Plan', it was known as (I know you'll already know this!).

When Puskas did that drag back half the crowd fell down backwards

Yes , Ramsay played . There weren't any Blades players in the side although there should have been since Gil Merrick of Brum was in goal and he was about as useful as a club foot , whereas the wonderful Ted Burgin was close to his peak .

Usually I would make capital out of this despicable behaviour from a Pig, but I believe that all the players were very unhappy at having to do this.

I wonder if his first name was Ces?
