Incoming? Callum styles

Another attacking midfielder is not what's needed. A big, commanding, ideally left footed central midfielder is the biggest gap in the squad - especially if they're in the last year of their contract, would play for £50/week and aren't put off by training ground claiming more victims than the Somme.

He's never going to win the Ballon d'Or but someone in the mould of Phillip Billing would do.

Styles is left footed but then Doyle could play instead of Berge as he's right footed of course, so yes it sadly could be due to late interest for Berge, if there's truth in this Styles rumour.
 

Hecky said one place would look at if did bring someone in was left midfield due to severity of fleck and ozzys injury... But also said unlikely to happen

From looking at his time at Barnsley he seems to play LWB more than anywhere else, but presumably if we wanted him it would be to play left centre mid I would have thought as Lowe is doing well at LWB and we've got injuries to Fleck of course, Doyle is right sided and as a rule United don't like using left footers on the right and vice versa.

Saw a bit in paper yesterday that Hecky had asked the board if we could stretch the budget to get a replacement in because of Flecky's injury. Looks like Style's could be that player and nothing to do with Berge leaving. 🤞

Agree....Berge goes then Doyle is his replacement and styles comes in on the left....McAtee is presumably seen as cover/competition for Ndaiye then?

I'm not sure on where McAtee specifically fits into the system at present but he's such a good player I'd imagine that he would also be considered for left mid, despite recent poor outing v Luton, and cameos in the last 20 minutes off the bench. Him and Khadra both look likely for those sub roles at present; not a bad option to have!
 
This would be a real bonus if we could get him in. Competition for the middle of the park, an upgrade on Osborn and will compete with Fleck.

With: Norwood, Fleck, Styles, Doyle, Osborn, McAtee & Berge we'd have real competition for these spots, and a huge upgrade on what we've had for the last couple of years.
 
He's a great player, would not be against this at all with the Fleck injury...just worried it may be to cover an outgoing player or two

Don’t underestimate the Shirecliffe Sniper!
No idea when Fleck or Osborn at resurface.
 
When I saw him I thought he was playing the Fleck role for Barnsley, but maybe slightly wider.
However, having read their fans comments they seem to suggest he's much better at LWB and not that strong in midfield, which is where we would need him to play.

If they're right, he might be an OK signing in terms of covering a few areas down the left but he might not be the ideal signing. We really need a combative type at the base of midfield.
 
He seems to be another Osborn.
do we need another Osborn?
