Have put a decent bet on us getting relegated. Gives me a positive spin if we do as get a fair amount back.

Cant see us doing well at all and not upgrading in January.

Only positive this window is keeping Peck. But then he will leave for a reduced figure when he found out to be bang average next summer. Should have cashed in on him while we could.

It is more a pattern emerging of selling the best players and not replacing them with any future salable asset. This kind of thinking is short term and bad for business in the long run. All while owing the former owner for the purchase of the club... I'd argue you'd have to be pretty hard of thinking to view this in any positive light.
There's more nuance to that. As he came on a free during the parachute payment years, I'd guess on a £ per week basis, he was our top earner. Shifting Hamer and COH will be financially extremely beneficial....

In terms of assets, I'd suggest Cooper, Peck, Seriki, One, Burrows and if Baptiste can establish himself - we're well stocked on that front....

That's not for me personally, but can see the 3-1 odds getting some interest now.

Beneficial to who? To Sheffield United or is it plugging financial holes that the owners have created? I would agree it to be good business providing a percentage is invested in a player with potential to grow, or even investing in club infrastructure? Do we believe that is what is happening?

i still think weve enough in the squad not to get relegated and would never bet against my own team utb

This makes absolutely no sense.

What are we wanting them to address us about? Are we wanting a statement every 5 minutes?

This is implying that we're only paying wages by making sales, which won't be the case. To say so with certainty would require insider knowledge

Not how anything works.

Again - they're owners, not fans. What are you expecting from them?
1. Rather than putting in some of their own actual money like every other football club owner does, they want it all to come from designating the playing squad. They are continuing little to nothing to the shortfall and expect Chris to sort it all via transfers.

2. Wanting a statement every 5 minutes? They literally make no engagement at all, don’t communicate anything about strategy or identity at all. I couldn’t even tell you what Helmy sounds like. I don’t want Storch but something in between.

3. If they fail to satisfy their commitments it could leave them banned form football. The exact same happened to Chansiri.

4. I expect communication to the fans, the paying customers. An explanation as to why they are showing such little ambition vs other clubs.

Football isn’t the same as other businesses. It’s normal for owners to act as custodians and update the fans of their vision for the club. What the plan for the Academy? The training ground? Etc.

Can you prove that they haven't put their own money in? And what are you expecting them to do with regards to the shortfall? If it doesn't get filled, we suffer - so what are you expecting them to do?

How often did PA give statements outside of ramblings on TalkSport?

Has there been any inkling that they're even remotely close to failing to fulfill their footballing commitments?

Do you see that sort of communication from your Blackburns, Swansea, Stoke?

But it is a business - they don't owe us anything. Its horrid, and its wrong - but they don't.

As I've said, I'm not happy with them - but we need actual, tangible issues to raise instead of making things up

Time will tell. I'm guessing BBD and Phillips aren't cheap, and if the Dore development is to progress, that too won't come cheap...

Wrexham are in the top 2/3 of spenders in the league. It doesn't excuse us selling him if we've no decent replacement but time will tell on that.

Why the hell would you sanction a move without a replacement? What other clubs do this. You look around the window and other clubs are moving for a player simultaneously to one leaving. Yet again we have zero plan. Absolutely disgraceful.
That's the sheff united way, either have a mediocre or no alternative lined up when selling, especially just before the transfer window shuts

Love the positivity. However....I think the phrase I'm looking for is "don't hold your breath "
My expectations are quite low after all these years. So certainly not holding my breath in anticipation.
But I'd rather try and be positive about it until the end of the transfer window.
Either way there is feck all I can do about it so, worse comes to the worst I'll be grumpy for a few hrs then we go again. Isn't much choice in my book.
Not like I am going to throw a tantrum and say ''that's me done'.
Been here many times before.

Sounds like you've seen alot of this before and life moves on. P.s. all our expectations are low, it's all how you deal with it.

Surely we’ve known for a while that O’Hare could go, so why haven’t we got a replacement lined up? If it’s a financial issue, then why spend money on Choudhury? An attacking midfielder/winger has always been a higher priority than another defensive midfielder.
Who says we haven't? The window isn't closed yet, and COH hasn't even been announced at Wrexham.

We will absolutely have contingency options in mind, and pursuing those now. The big question is how good they end up being.

But we will definitely not allow COH to go and the window close without bringing in someone with creativity to play a similar role.

I heard earlier today a team stated a player is available but only if they get a replacement in. Why couldn’t we have done that at this late stage.

When people can no longer afford the lifestyle they once had they might downsize their house , holiday less frequently or not replace the car as often is that asset stripping or simply living within their means ?

The club has a budget , we have rules around expenditure that they try to balance with being competitive and the expectations of supporters and their magic money tree.

Most want a club thats sustainable, to stay within the rules and will be here for generations to come but many want expenditure that risks it.

We cant have it all .

Its a balance we need to strike and do the best we can with what we have .

The lack of rumours on here doesn’t exactly give me much confidence that transfers are likely.

We’ve always done that.

You glt to admire the way Bournemouth went about it last year. Only let players go once the replacements were in.

Femi Azeez £15m to Brighton 18 goal contributions in a side that finished in the playoffs. Thats the marker.

Callum O’Hare 16 goal contributions in a side that finished midtable. If he goes for anything less than £10m we’ve had our pants pulled down.
