Burrows

Honestly thought he was awful for 75 mins but then the last 15 really showed his quality. That’s the most I’ve celebrated a goal in a long long time I have to admit. Beauty of a strike

I thought he was one of the few players trying to make something happen.
I thought he was having a pretty good game.

Seriki provided us with a lot of threat when he came on and I think deserves more game time.

Souza MOTM though.
He looks miles above this level at times.

Big question marks remain over O'Hare.
We need to play Hamer in there, for now. Hamer loses the ball a lot and is far from perfect, but you fancy him to eventually make something happen.

I absolutely love it when a shithousing team get hoisted by their own petard , especially when they've had fair warning and persist in their fouling.
The pullback on O’Hare got them a red card and they still didn't learn.
When the ball came through to Burrows , the defender deliberately held onto his arm , but our hero wasn't going to be put off and executed a lovely shot despite being dragged off balance.

In the last few games we have really been getting him into positions where he can use his crossing and shooting. It was something really missing for the first 10 games are so. That cross field ball from Souttar, that hit Burrows several times, was obviously smg they worked on tactically. Would be just out luck if now is the time Moore gets injured.

Tuchel will be calling within 18 months. I did say it when he signed that he’d be getting a call up.

Really, really fucking like this bloke. Just oozes class.
Could see him getting frustrated with himself when things weren't going his way tonight but still put some absolute quality into the box and then that finish. What a left foot this kid has.

Could see how good he was at Preston. Reads the game very well as a defender.
Great crossing and shooting. What's not to like.

Imagine how good he would be in the original 3-5-2, overlapping system

This lad is the bollocks.

He was absolutely awful yesterday 😅 One of the worst performances by a blade this season. An absolutely liability 😅 but his teammates had him covered. Nobody is going in on him, because he has been amazing. So good in fact, that the fan base realises what a class young player we've got (on a steal BTW). People around me were actually laughing when he made mistakes that resulted in nothing...it had a real "ah well, don't worry pal, it's OK" feel about it. Absolutely zero frustration grumbles from the crowd. I've only seen that with Arblaster in recent years. A free pass to have a clanger

What an impact he's had on us.

Get some rest young man, you've deserved it. UTB

He was up against a very talented lad in Kwado Baah.
Would love someone like him in our team. Absolutely frightening pace, direct to the byline and a decent touch.
He had poor Burrows on toast.
We brought on McCallum to support him... didn't work. So we threw on RND... Still didn't work.

As critical as I've been of some of Gilchrist's performances, all of Watford's joy came down our left side.
Andre Brooks supported really well defensively.

You say it didn't work but what did he actually do apart from smash our defenders around a bit.?

While I was watching the game I knew someone would be on here lusting after him even though to me he looked like a more muscular collie Burke

Maybe I'm misremembering as I'd had several pre-game scoops, but I thought he created their first goal with his running and clever ball through for the assister... and almost a created a second (when Cooper saved with his legs).
Did he not have something to do with the penalty they probably should have had too?

He had several very bright moments for them and looked a footballer (unlike Burke).
He definitely had our lot worried every time he got the ball and I felt the subs reflected that.

I wondered if we would put on a fourth left back (Boyes) to stop him...

They are all slagging Brereton Diaz off, he scored 3 times as many last season, in 14 games, as their top scorers have this season.

I admit I was watching on my phone on a train so maybe you remember better than me but i thought he was a bit of a steamroller with no end product

I found it quite comical that their winger went past Burrows like he wasn't there due to his massive advantage in pace,
on about 2 or 3 occasions Burrows tried to take him out (rightly doing a professional foul and probably taking a yellow card).

but Baah was so quick, poor Burrows wasn't even quick enough to foul him.

He had a bit of a nightmare, but worked his absolute bollocks off. That's all you can do sometimes

In Burrows defence, he looked absolutely shattered. He's been brilliant for us.

I mean once RND came on their threat was completely nullified

I wonder if Burrows was one of the players Wilder hinted at has been ill and shouldn’t have played, not only did the tricky winger give him nightmares but his normally excellent crossing was all over the place too yesterday

Agree....he's been so good this season that he's earned himself plenty of goodwill in the bank.
Been an excellent signing for us, still young too with a promising future ahead of him.
No problem him having a poor game every once in a while, it happens to every player and thankfully, it had no effect on the final result.
