The performance against Cardiff was worse.
He showed a complete lack of interest just trying to showboat. He has the skills but his attitude could be a worry.
 
Burrows suits us better at LB. He gets into space easier and defensively he positions himself well. Playing in midfield he mixed good with bad. He gave some very good long passes which we have been missing. Hamer is better in CM and dropping back there he started to hit some long passes too.
The early ball to Campbell became a good outlet for us.

We don't have Hamer for the next two.
 
He’s the best left back outside the Prem. A brilliant player who I really hope grows with us rather than outgrow us.

For once I would go 532 and give Peck help by putting a midfielder on both sides of him.
Needs a big shuffle , but you've got Seriki , McCallum , Brooks , O'Hare , maybe even Baptiste or BBD are professional enough to play one game in midfield.

It's no good putting young kids in to help Peck who's a young kid himself.

It's a great idea - he's a PL MF in the making with his pace & physique.
But I think Peck needs 2 alongside him , not just 1

It’s all about opinions. I like him but let’s not overdo it, ‘top end’ players have done it over a much longer period of time. And as for the premier league…..sorry not yet, if at all; you need to be either super quick or an extraordinary athlete - he’s neither. On the plus side then he’s got goals in him - again at this level….

Well if Lowton can have a career in the PL surely Burrows can. John Terry wasn't super quick. Its all about reading the game and fitting in with the game plan or style that the manager plays. It's also about opportunity. Matt Doherty is playing in the PL and has been for years, everytime he puts on an Irish Jersey he has been want. As you say it's all about opinions.

I'm not sure he's the best but he's definitely up there. Playing one of the best left backs as a holding midfielder makes absolutely no sense. It's just stupid. I'd love to hear Wilder's reasoning. It'll probably be similar to playing Hamer (one of the best central midfielders/attackers outside of the premier league) on the left. May as well throw in Gilchrist while we're here, a centre back by trade so let's let him learn the right back role while we're trying to get promoted.

Why can't we just play footballers where they know how to play football, and if we don't have footballers for a particular position then why not sign them instead of spunking £10m on a bang average striker?

Those stats surprise me a little bit, I thought it looked like he had a difficult afternoon.

I still think there's so much more to come from Burrows.
As good as he's been, I think he can contribute even more in attack.

He's got a wand of a left foot and we need to get him into areas to use it more.
The goal we scored against PNE should happen far more often.

In an attacking sense, it doesn't help Burrows having Hamer ahead of him. Someone we know will try to do everything on his own (and is capable of doing so).
 
He’s been as bad as anyone in the 3 defeats. Poor output and generally very negative. He’s often isolated down the left in his defence but he really pissed me off in those 3. Hopefully back at it for the play offs.

It's not really a song but whenever he has the ball I. Usually shout

'Stop turning back towards your own goal'

Burrows ha# no support down the left as the midfield player who should support and get beyond him is Hamer who is given a free rein to wander into central positions. When our right back receives the ball, either Raki Saki or BBD are ahead of him providing an outlet when Burrows receives the ball he has no one.

It is not rocket science purely another master stroke from Wilder..

Play BBD in his preferred position ahead of Burrows and both with improve.
 
On Friday in the first half he was taking up some great positions with masses of space. Our defenders and midfield continuallly ignore the opportunity and play the tippy tappy football between themselves.

In addition we are very poor at using the channels and Burrows so often is left with no options ahead of him.

Yep my 11 year old kept pointing to the space he had. A joke that we fail to spot or use it.

We did eventually get the ball to him, by which time he was marked, so we passed it back to the right and they were marked, so we launched it upfield to no one in particular as none of our strikers make a run and Souza and Peck are told to sit too deep.

Massive step up for him this year. Spent his entire career at Peterborough before us, including youth football. This level of play and expectation is a serious jump. A bit of a drop off recently maybe but overall very good and I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops. Whether it’s in the Champ or the Prem he needs to know he’s absolutely good enough.
